Bolts fan here and I agree, we choked big time and I'm livid at the performance Tampa put in the last two games and Cooper's coaching the entire series.
Tampa got manhandled almost the entire series and Vasi kept them in it. How do they choke if they weren't playing well to begin with?
This series reminds me of that one episode on family guy where Brian chokes on a dinner roll, spits it out, and mr. weed chokes on it
The bucs despite them having a lot of talent with Dungy as coach could not get it done.They had to bring in a fiery coach Gruden. Maybe the lightning need to do the same.
Stamkos is an incredible human being by all accounts. Therefore what I'm saying is nothing personal. He's a typical boring Canadian player. How many goals has he scored via 1-timer from the top of the circle? Ahem… All of them? He's a good Ontario boy. Only canadians can enjoy that type of player. We already had one – Brett Hull. We don't need to admire another one dimensional one timer artist. He hasn't scored a highlight reel goal ever. It's what it is. When that top circle is taken away from him, he's useless. It's not like he's gonna dangle past two D and deke a goalie.
It was starting to get painful watching kucherov turn the puck over every single time, and the bolts lack physical toughness, the caps manhandled the bolts, when ceddy paquette is your tough guy you ain't that tough to begin with. I would consider trading a player like palat Johnson gourde, for a 2nd 3rd liner with some power to throw around. How many times did we see Stamkos get in fights this year , sticking up for his teammates? When your sniper captain has to be the muscle nobody fears you, I believe yzerman will take care if this, he's a genius working the salary cap

I think Ovechkin is REALLY pissed… about not being there for the Russian Olympic Gold Medal. Could be enough motivation to FINALLY get a Stanley Cup. He REALLY wanted to go to the Olympics. It's a Russain thing. They hold Olympic Gold Medals in much higher regard than Stanley Cups!!! I NEVER liked the way Ovechkin has played the game in the past. He seems to be playing a very selfless game this year. The Hockey God's Like that!!!
In the last 5 minutes of game 7, Stamkos and Kucherov looked like they didn't even want to be there. I imagine that it's likely due to them being exhausted, but at some point a fresh 2nd line guy has to be better than a tired 1st. It was just crazy to me to see those two loafing around the ice when Point (who had an excellent postseason) was sitting on the bench and was flying.
I totally agree that if Ovi gets (wrongfully) shredded every year the Caps didn't win, Stamkos can get shredded for this attempt, in which he was relatively invisible

This take is awful considering in the first five games of the series Stamkos was literally the ONLY guy scoring goals. Sorry he can't do it 7 games in a row guys, but hockey is a team sport, and the Tampa Bay Lightning failed Steven, not the other way around.

Tampa was exposed as too light with no elite center. They are better than average 5v5. Stammer was lost out there and Kutcherov kinda quit. The D need to take the heat off the Tampa forwards so the forwards can do their thing. Stammer did not show up last games. Inexcusable.
The bright side of the Lightn8ng question is Syracuse where the AHL team is leaded with talent and my pick to win the Calder this year unless Tampa drains the talent. Look for names Volkov Yan Katchouk Raddysh Somppi Foote Susanov…all very young but talented.
Tampa needs an elite forward now otherwise like a predicted new year ago…Stanley is about a year or two away. O I was the edge with Yoshi a major pickup and Kuznetsov a great development. What a great year for DC.

BOI STAMKOS HAD 16 POINTS IN 16 GAMES AND 7 GOALS. AND WTF R U PUTTING ALL THE PRESSURE ON HIM WHEN HE SCORED IN THE FIRST 4 GAMES LMAOOO OF THE CAS SERIES.. but seriously. Stamkos had a very decent postseason. the whole team had a bas game 7. not just stamkos lel
Being down 2-0 and coming back to at least game 6 is really impressive. especially against a team who went on to win the cup. They didnt choke, Sid is just angry cause he said earlier that year in another video that he thought Tampa would make it to the cup final. Stamkos also played great in the WSH series. He dosent deserve that much heat. Kuch deserves more heat than stamkos. As im typing this he has 41 goals on the 2018-19 year. i honestly expected him to get 20 at max after 2017-2018. he can get to 100 points if he does well in TB's last 5 games. NOBODY expected that. i think he exceeded his own expectations. If the lightning do choke hard this year, it will be Toronto or boston in round 2. But in 2017-2018. no, they didnt. 113 points isnt even that amazing of a regular season. its kinda average for good teams. But my point is. No lmao. Stamkos played a fairly decent WSH series. the only game that Stamkos truly disappeared by himself was game 5. Game 6 and 7 the whole team disappeared. As the top NHL team, choke is an understatement. They were soft when the playoffs arrived..having secured a spot weeks ago and weren't ready. Columbus peaked at the right time.
