I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt in that both the Lightning and Coyotes squads were all mediocre at best. That said, this Canucks squad isn’t much better and possibly worse. So good luck to him

The only rationale I have is their end goal is to be shit for a few more seasons and wait for the cap to unfuck itself. To appease aquaman they make a couple moves and a coaching change but know they have to bottom out and rebuild. My guess is they had to try and compete the first year or two. After this I have to hope the writing is on the wall for Aquaman.

I mean, if we’re going off past coaching records, Boudreau has never coached a team to a sub .500 season until this season. Even he can’t do much for this sad sack of a team.

Was listening to an old Chiclets episode with Stamkos, Ryan Malone, and Teddy Purcell. Was surprised when Stammer mentioned that he thought Tocc was a great coach and that he helped his game a lot.
Not a super important anecdote but it’s something to think about.
