Rest in power Gino!
Man, that’s sad news. He embodied the heart and soul of this team for many years. Stood up for Pavel, single-handedly took on the entire St. Louis Blues, and was an integral part of the ‘94 run. He was also a trailblazer and hero for Indigenous kids who looked up to him… frankly, as did we all… as evidenced when he was hospitalized, and a crowd instantly emerged out of nowhere singing Gino! Gino! — a very familiar chant back in the 90s in The Coliseum.
Let’s all raise a glass to #29 tonight — he meant a lot to this team and we will never forget him.
RIP Gino — your health took a bad turn a few years ago, and it’s been tough. Now you get your well-deserved eternal rest.
Kids now days will never know what he and all the other enforcers meant. There’s a reason we chanted his name. Thank you and may ur God’s bless u.
