1. Boston adds a top 6 forward and things look decent for them which worries me. Ottawa not adding that top 4 defenseman yet is also concerning. I’m glad Ottawa will be competitive but the road to the playoffs will be daunting.

  2. i loved that sens central citizen. Becca has such an amazing energy. it is good to see that she is helping to remove the stigma around alcoholism. thank you for introducing us to her. her smile is infectious.and damn is she beautiful.

  3. i think her white whale would be Bobby Ryan but she didnt want to say it because he already told her he didnt want to do an episode of her podcast. she didnt want him to feel pressured to do it.

  4. Unless they can fully get rid of Zaitsev contract, I don't think we will see any changes in the D lineup. Cap space won't magically increase by 10 million next year, so the Sens needs to keep cap space to resign DeBrincat and Stutzle. There will be some spots to fill as Hamonic, Zub, Holden, Watson and Talbot either needs to be resigned or replaced. Debrincat might ask for 8 or 9 next year and Ottawa will probably need to sign Stutzle to a 7 or more contract. They still haven't signed Formenton and Brannstrom. Formenton might be a few millions and Brannstrom still just a million. Last, Pinto should be off IR, adds an additional 1 mil to the cap. Doesn't leave much room next year. Next year they finish buying off Phaneuf at 354K, but Del Zotto buy off increases by 250K. 100K won't do much in this case.

Sorry to everyone. Chychrun wouldn't even fit in the cap space even if they did buy out Zaitsev. By Capfriendly, Ottawa would only save approx. 1.7 million for the first 2 years. Not nearly enough.

  5. I think the sens need to dump Zaitsev in any way possible and try for Dante Fabbro from Nashville. I don't think the preds would be able to resign him next year with their cap and the guys they need to resign. The sens would also have to trade Hamonic's 3 million and replace him with a dependable cheap 3rd liner like Chad Ruhwedel from the penguins. He is 32 but is good at defending the zone and doesn't panic. He is a good buy for the 3rd pair @ 800k per yea r (the pens have 8 d men on the books right now anyways). The next year would be hell for resigning guys but if they can get Fabbro a 2 year at 5.1mil, the cat at 9.25 mil and convince Timmy to take a 1year extension at 3 mil so he gets the freed up dead cap the next year (over 5 mil) at 8 years with that and Pinto for a couple of years at 1.2 mil, they can do it and hope the cap goes up more than a mil 2 years from now for sanderson and fabbro. The other way is to get rid of Zaitsev and Hamonic and get Ruwedel and a 2nd pair right shot D that is similar to zub at around 4 mil max but is young, 25 at the most.

  6. Bruins are worse off with the two 50 year olds coming back. Sens speed will skate circles around them.
