This is why the 1 all star per team rule is bullshit.
I don’t think Nylander is ever going to get into the All-Star with this voting system and playing behind Matthews/Marner and that’s unfortunate.
24 G and 27 A for 51 P isn’t good enough I guess.
*Kyle Connor who is 12th in points, RNH who is 14th in points, Stamkos who is 16th in points & Nylander who is 20th in points all missed the all-star game under this silly system. All 4 also have 20+ goals.*
You know what, the penalty for missing the ASG is missing one game either before, or after the ASG. The Leafs come back from the All-Star break with a back-to-back vs Columbus, and the first game is on the road, so I wonder if Matthews doesn’t sit out, letting Willy get the nod, take the extra heal time and return at home vs Columbus.
I don’t generally support skipping the ASG, but Matthews obviously has had something nagging, so I’d be totally okay with it if Willy could take his place.
I’m someone’s gotta go from the team it should have been willy but… honestly I saw WAY more votes for players like Xhekaj, Caulfield, Necas, Stutzle, etc. Seems like the league had already decided who was going before the vote
