If the source isn’t Friedman, I’m not going to look that deep into Larkin negotiations. Seems like a ploy from his agency more than anything. Yzerman is a lock box and nobody has the keys but him

    Happy Friday Red Wings fans!

fun game to watch last evening, nice snipe by thick Joe.

I can’t stand the shiny gold helmets from Vegas, so fugly. Same with the Kings and their domes.

  4. Just watched The Hockey Guy’s recap, didn’t realize we didn’t take a penalty in this game.

I’m very pleased with the win last night.

Each goal we scored was from quality shots and setup play. Their goals were certainly flukey, something we need to fix I think. I thought the D played a good all around game, even though we gave up 30+ shots.

Good win last night but if this team had taken care of business against Arizona and Columbus in the last few games we’d be 1 pt outside the wild card.

Holy jumpin there are certainly some takes in the “Larkin’s most recent offer wasn’t received well” thread.

Been waiting for the ice to freeze to play some pond hockey 🙄

Update: Givani Smith lost yet another fight this year.

I mean obviously Larkins camp should not take the first initial negotiations well, thats how negotiations work. You bid low and go up, never ever has any negotiations started with a super high bid that leaves the seller pleased. Yzerman might fully know that Larkin is worth 9, but he will still start at 7 regardless.

Kucherov charged Kane straight through the numbers into the boards and the refs *immediately* looked for a make up call on the Oilers to even it out, just wild how some teams can just do that.

Re what we are talking about yesterday about not finishing on our chances, https://youtu.be/b4g32hkMY24?t=210 watching the replay from last game look at a chance like this for Copp here for example. I mean you dont need a Connor Bedard type of talent to finish on this, plenty of late first round or second round players who can hit the top corners on plays like that.

  13. Let’s try and keep the discussions calm and collected, but would you rather Stevie:

    A) keep trying to find an agreement with Larkin and his camp, possibly going the Stamkos route and take it right to the finish line, and possibly even lose him to UFA.

    Or

    B) Trade him for returns at the deadline if no agreement is made by then.

Today my venture into the Hi-Fi world officially begins. I’ve been delaying going into the vinyl world (again) for a while because of space constraints and not being able to do it right. But I think I’m close to being able to do it right at least, despite the space constraints. Picking everything up today. And setting it up over the weekend.

Any recommendations on the first album I should spin? I’ve got a few and toe already, but starting to wonder if I need to take a look at getting a copy of Four Way Street today in honor of the loss of the albeit somewhat controversial David Crosby. I’ve also got some Jethro Tull and toe, a repressing of every time I die’s « from parts unknown », I’m trying to track down a few other things. The list of what I want is too long to even begin to think about right now, but open to ideas for a first spin.

    DJ Chachi on repeat?

Idk how many times I’ve said that I was going to emotionally detach, but surprise, it hasn’t worked. This team has been torture this year. Worse than at least the last five years. Are we getting a top 10 pick? Or making a WC? Are we beating a top 5 team? Or losing to a bottom 5 team? Every situation is highly likely. I feel like we’re in a black hole. Ughhhh

    Anyway, happy Friday 🙃

Apparently the NFL is kicking around the idea of starting a division in Europe.

Could that happen with the NHL?

Obviously the NFL has more money and there’d be challenges.

How It’s planned to work is having a separate Euro division with Four teams.

I think it could maybe work.

For the NHL it would make the most sense to have Sweden and Finland. Not sure the other countries.

Is hockey popular in England/the UK?

Russia would be an obvious choice except for the current political climate which probably isn’t going to change any time soon if ever.

Since the rumors are now flying about Larkin, it’s a great time for a reminder on how typical that stuff is and how agents use media in negotiations… Landeskog recently is a hell of an example… ended up re-signing for 7M x 8 years despite these agent-fed rumors right before UFA
