I actually love seeing the Bruins get smacked around. They had 10+ years of physically dominating other teams. McQuad, Lucic, Scott Thornton, Chara, Boychuck, Nathan Horton etc etc etc. Guys like Marchand, bergeron, charlie mcavoy and others have experienced blanket protection for years. Now that all their heavyweights are gone guys are taking long over due runs at them. McAvoy and Marchand are extremely disliked in the league. Guys will be lining up to smack them around. I appreciate and truly enjoy watching it happen. Boston doesnt make the playoffs and if they do their one and done. (unless they get the leafs) I dont see them more than a fringe playoff team. Their backend is extremely weak imo. Their top forwards are old (obv not pasta). Not a good combination.

Krejci is old, so is Bergeron. Marchand and Pasta can only do so much. Hall and DeBrusk aren't guys you can rely on night in, night out.
The defense isn't the worst, but after McAvoy and Lindholm, who do they have?
Swayman is still young as well.
People are underestimating Ottawa and even Detroit and Buffalo, but Ottawa is poised to take a gigantic leap with the additions of Debrincat, Giroux, Talbot. That top 6 for Ottawa is crazy. Plus if some of the young guys in their system can play well on defense, I can see them being a wild card team. Teams like Washington, Boston will eventually have to rebuild and that will be very soon.
Even if Boston does make it, they'll run into a team like Tampa or Carolina and get dominated. In the playoffs, their lack of speed and depth has really been exposed.
Bergeron, Krejci, potentially Lucic… Sounds like an old timers game…wait a minute. While they're at it why not bring back Chara? Last season the Bruins lost in the first round of the playoffs against Carolina which was playing there 2nd and 3rd string goalies. The Bruins, 'no playoff for you'.

Complete misreading of Bruins fan sentiment by Biz. Writing this from Boston, literally everyone wants to chuck Sweeney into the Charles never to be seen again. Sweeney, is the worst drafter of all time and has then signed THE WORST free agent signings of all time. Coyle for over 5m… when he scores less than 15 goals a year. Moore for 2.7m and gets scratched. Foligno at 90 years old for 3.8m. It goes on and on and on. B's fans are sickened bc it's such a waste of one of the greatest cores ever (who all took discounts). Sweeney was handed a silver platter and proceeded to take a dump on it and serve it to fans.

major roster trades & prospects come in or brought up at winter trade deadline. Lately – Hall, Coyle, Lindholm, Swayman… etc
Hampus knew he was coming to Boston a year before he signed, Don – Cam had him here visiting after Chara left.
From what I saw, only one Boston reporter caught on to Lindholme at Red Sox game with Bruins folks, long before he was signed.
He stated his decision to come to the Bruins was a "no-brainer," for less money than offered by other franchises
They keep things close to their vest.
Many knew Swayman a while before he played AHL – B's signed him 5 minutes after he turned 18- most didn't know him unless they were a Maniac. Alaska hockey community knew he was special.
He's not a surprise – we knew he was coming along.

As far as krejci goes ,…years ago I was watching a behind the B show and they were doing a fundraiser and they were playing ping pong and the reporter asked Chara something about krejci and he said “ I don’t know , we aren’t friends “ , ( Krejci was standing right there within earshot ). I thought he was joking until I started paying attention to after the end of every game Chara would stand there y the bench and high five everyone as they were coming off the ice and krejci would duck under his arm and refuse to high five him every time ,… I’m not saying that’s why he left ( obviously because he left when Chara was no longer there) ,… but it’s gotta suck playing on a team that everyone loves and respects the captain and you don’t get along with him .

Matty G, chuck & marchy all ahead of schedule and already skating with the team – 3-0 start, ullmark looking like a stud, debrusk on 🔥 bergy back doing bergy things like 65% faceoffs and a third line centre the caliber of coyle …. If everyone is fit this team is for sure a playoff squad.
They don’t have the speed to compete with the top few sides, next year is gonna be the problem with cap issues and needing to pay pasta
