   Some God awful plays in the own zone, with Vegas taking advantage.

    Im glad Ovi wasn’t part of this, but I’m sad that the rest of the team was.

    Best part of the game for me was warmups

    Was by the glass to watch warmups and a family of 4 who recently moved from the DMV to Vegas were about three rows back and clearly new to the pre game ritual. They had two boys no older than 7 in caps gear. Mom mentions it’s their first hockey game and a bunch of us usher their boys right to the glass.

    Warmups start and the kids are clearly having a blast watching the players skate and shoot . They don’t have any signs so about half way through warmup, dad takes off his Backstrom jersey and the boys hold it up to the glass number facing out.

    And wouldn’t you know, the super Swede takes notice and tosses them a puck. And not just any puck, a limited lunar new year puck that was straight gorgeous (as far as pucks go). The smiles on those boys faces is what hockey is all about…

    … to bad they had to endure the rest of the game.
