  1. Many Kings fans are a prisoner of the moment; current moment is a day after a bad game plus 2 losses in a row @ home, and a poor game by Copley. However the recent trend of past 13-15 games has been positive. Now if they go 1-5 over the roadie, then I will be quite concerned. Or if Copley's play worsens or he gets injured. Not time yet to push the panic button. But Blake needs to get a #1 goalie this summer if he wants to be a Cup contender next season. So far, Blake has not done well with rebuilding the single most important position: goalie.

  2. I actually thought LA played well, the goaltending in my opinion was the difference, Wedgwood was fantastic Copley wasn't. The Robertson goal I won't put on him puck went off Durzi's stick, trying to block a shot, after he lost Robertson behind the net, but the 1st 3 were stopable. The 3rd line for LA I thought had a strong game Anderson-Dolan in particular had some really good looks and was just strong in general on the ice and Sean Walker I also thought had really strong performance especially considering Elder looked just behind from drop of the puck the 2nd line had some real good looks aswell, and DAL did a great job of blocking shots and passes. To be honest I thought Quick had a very strong 3rd period in New Jersey and looked like he was seeing the puck well in relief against DAL so positives

  3. Even though it was amazing when he was, I never expected Copley to be super-human. What he did give us was a glimpse of what a very solid goalie could do when the team plays the right way in front of him. It can happen again. But what I am concerned with is how Blake is going to ice a complete NHL hockey team, not half of one with what looked like in comparison a bunch of pee-wees playing pick-up hockey filling in the bottom-6.

  4. Some good news: It’s only been 5 games, but Brandt Clarke is tearing it up in the OHL. 4 goals, 5 assists, 25 shots on goal, +5 plus/minus. In the game Sunday, he scored 4 points with a power play and a shorthanded goal.

  5. Not concerned, Copley had an off night. But question is how Copley and the Kings will respond after this loss against Nashville. Go Kings Go!!

  6. Ottawa GM Pierre Dorion flew in to see the Kings play Dallas, sparking trade rumors. The Sens have been looking for a d-man, and could be interested in either Matt Roy or Sean Walker. The Kings probably need to trade Walker or Roy to have enough cap space to add someone like Chychrun or another left-side d-man.

  7. I kind of thought before the game that LA would be sharper. The only real explanation of Dallas beating LA is that Dallas is a really good team having a really great night.

LA is still dealing with inconsistencies. They can be a Stanley Cup contender one night and the very next night look like a team trying to tank the season for a higher draft pick.

  8. Wedgewood as was pointed out by Ricky below was completely out of his mind good. He was tracking pucks in amazing ways, especially those pucks to his left that he was falling down and stopping with his face or his glove. It was a remarkable performance as he was dialed in. I do believe he beat us when we were in Big D earlier in the year but not as skillfully as this game.

As far as the rest of it – great to hear about Clarke and also interesting to hear about Ottawa being around town for some reason.

Still waiting for QB to click in with his size and start to dominate. He looks like he is capable of it with his raw skill and size but just not sure when it will happen. Hopefully soon.

Thanks Eddie and good luck tonight to the guys …Saros is a badass as well….should be a good game.

  9. QB has no business on top line. Even with his good game against Nashville, overall he’s just not scoring enough points to be on this Kings team. Its best if have him STAY in Ontario for rest of season, gain confidence, and help Reign try and win a Calder Cup. He’s so young, we need to be patient and let him develop without being in the fishbowl.

  10. I wonder what the plan is if Copley loses his confidence after that game or if he gets injured and Quickie doesn’t get any better.

  11. Another tough game against Nashville for Copley.
Problem is that when he lets in weak goals there is no great saves later on to make up for it.
Hopefully he won't end up like the last flash in the pan Martin Jones.
At least Copley up until the last two games is fairly fundamentally sound whereas Jones ended up being a big disappointment.
Nice move by Byfield on the delayed pull and drag goal.
Gotta give him props for that but man he is really weak on the puck ,rushes his passes and does not hold the puck long enough to actually make anything happen.
But one big problem in the last two games has been lizzote.
Very poor play in the neutral zone and also in his own end.
I saw too many of #46s backside when the kings where fishing the puck out of their own net.
    Hopefully a win today.
I believe quick certainly earned a start today.

  12. I hope Tmac continues to give Copley the majority of starts. He is the ONLY Kings goalie that has earned the #1 spot ! He’s human and allowed to lose a couple games here and there. If the Kings miss the playoffs by a couple points that will be Tmac’s fault. Remember when he gave Quick those 3 starts which were all losses while Copley was winning every game ? Not smart and could be the difference between making the playoffs and not making them.
