Word is they wanted Bruce out since last spring, but owner refused to okay it, and continued to resist a change. Okay fine, but Rutherford handled this horribly from A to Z. The guy has been around forever, knows better, but is acting like a rookie. Never seen such a disgusting display by team management to a coach, and no shame in doing it for the entire Hockey World to see. Hopefully Karma comes around, Rutherford bounced out after season end, and takes his lapdog GM Alvinn with him.
Need new owner that understands the game and stays out of the operations, hiring and firing.
They knew what the team needed to make it more competitive D men, didnt address it , so what was expected. To me it sounded like personality issues with owner, management and coaching staff.
As a long time Canuck fan (1970) I don't really care any more, three finals in 50 years no cup, a circus of drama with fails, draft picks, contracts and coaches! Then this last dumpster fire and a press conference the three stooges would have sounded more confident and professional conducting, and at one of the most expensive rinks in the league to watch that….forget it. If we could clone Pat Quinn Pavel and Linden….maybe it would be worth it again!
Bruce took over took over when petterson was going through an injury, then petterson joined the team and he struggled a lot. Yet bruce managed to eke out many games and gave us fans great moments to cheer about. Petterson according to many is at the best of his career so the new coach better have a positive impact right away
If you really want to send a clear message to the ownership and management, then stop going to the games. That is the ONLY way they will get the message. The majority of fans seem very upset, but still tons of bums in the seats for the last 3 games before All-Star break I'd wager. I'd bet Tochs job on it.
I think we need to chant “Sell the team!” From here on out! Send these mfer’s a direct message that can actually do damage
Honestly, I’m just happy as a Canucks fan that the hockey world is realizing we might not be just a bunch of crazy people who love to hate our team. We love the Canucks so much, the pulse of the whole city is that team. And they’ve been dogshit for 10 years. With no hope of getting better. Incompetence has become what we expect in Vancouver and it just keeps getting worse and worse
Starts with the owner when Aquilani fired Mark Donnelly, the anthem singer all because he attended a Covid rally. Rutherford put together this crap team. You can’t blame Boudreau for that. Crap ownership and crap management. I hope the fans would cheer “Bruce there is” when they play there next game.
Where are the owners iin this they allowed a very respectful coach and this is the treatment that the owners allowed. Shame on them and the NHL have no respect for the Vancouver Canucks and hope the players realize its time to call their agents and leave better run.
Huge disconnect between ownership, management, and the actual people making this franchise what it is – players, coaches, and fans.
I would say not more damaging the damage already done.
I know the season ticket holders already paid their money. Just for one game, and one game only. Don't show up as a protest to the ineptitude of this management group.
I don't think Management has complete control. Ownership is very well known to meddle with the team. Aquilini's are going to drive this team into the ground, and it's their own damned fault.

Management doesn't want to rebuild because they don't believe it's necessary, and it's not like a rebuild further guarantee's a stanley cup anymore than a retool does, because none of us can see the whole picture of taking either route
So think of it like this. Your the coach your brought in to finish the season and they say OK you can continue next season but don't extend you. So next season rolls around you show up to work expecting maybe a 2 year extension just to reassure you that they will take care of you for your commitment to the club, for helping them get through. But nothing comes so what are their expectations of you at this point. With no small extension are you supposed to try and implement your system or are you waiting to see if they got your replacement yet. Probably the latter and so the gm says I didn't like training camp. OK well neither did I the coach are you bringing your guy in or am I the guy going forward and that's the mistake management made. They expected Bruce to coach the team and wait to be replaced so that's exactly what he did he coached. Now they should have got a new coach in the off-season or extended Bruce they put Bruce in an untenable situation. And that's on the GM and management not Bruce B. Way to go Bruce for hanging in there but you should have resigned and said thanks. That goes to the character of the man for not leaving the players hanging so Good on ya.

We've not seen the lowest yet. I have great confidence that this ownership and management group will completely screw up a rebuild if ever they wake up and realize that's what's needed.

They are definitely on the clock now. No way it’s possible they outlast their current deals. The owners look like complete idiots already, this was such an easy market to read as we are vocal and literally chant it during games. The only way I see fans forgetting is the Bedard sweepstakes being a local Stud, and you at best probably have a 8% chance at that. Not a good buisness plan!

Having to listen to the natives tell us to enjoy THEIR land prior to every game, in addition to all the other woke BS, had me ready to throw my towel after being a fan for over 40 years. This is the icing on the cake for me. Screw you, Canucks organization.
