  1. For the love of God this is agonizing this season. First the Jets lay an egg the 2nd half of the season now this. 🤨

  2. Too bad lou didn't say 'I RESIGN' and leave the nhl for good. His next move will be to can lambert in typical lou style before he sets in for his nice hibernation until after the tdl. Hey lou, does the boring as F isles sorry offense put you to sleep every game? One goal tonight, 1-8 in last nine. 14 total goals scored. Only scored more than two-three-once. The optimism is gone. This season can't end soon enough. Lou fooled himself into thinking this roster was good enough to win and last season was just a fluke. He was wrong. Isles should have just gotten in on the bedard sweepstakes. Just put up the 'SELL SELL SELL. ALL PLAYERS MUST GO' sign.

  3. Hi Gil—it’s another fan kill loss—-at least they really tried. —Lou accepted responsibility-shocker—-which means he’s resigned and has accepted failure. Another lost season for ol timers—-re-tool all you need to. This season could have been avoided with less secrecy and condescending and stubborn actions. I’m angry as a fan—this was avoidable—-with just some pure honesty from our Gm——-not in January—-but over the summer———-make us wait for months for 0000000———Don’t think he ever made honest offers to free agents and we just got suckered. I just feel he was unwilling to shake things up because he wanted his stamp—-on this team—-it was never his team—-it was “Snow’s team” so I never understood the loyalty. Guess it was at the “Devil’s expense”. We know the over the hill culprits. Take care Gil—— ——hope Owners had an eye opening “Lightning” bulb to experience with In Lou We Trust”! —-we can keep rooting—-keep trying—-keep hoping—-but we’re getting buried boys.

  4. GM Gil and guys, for starters I’m probably one of the oldest watching your vids, I’ve been a fan since 76 so I’ve seen the low points, the high points, the mediocre and now the low points of the organization. Bailey needs to be benched and traded, he literally didn’t even hustle to the bench last night on line changes and the one time that he got caught with the puck on their own zone on a line change, he skated behind the net and looked like he didn’t know what to do. I gotta admit, the game was so boring last night I fell asleep between the 2nd and 3rd period. As for Mayfield, I’ve always been a fan of his till last season, it’s like he has gone from a solid defender to thinking he’s Potvin with his pinching and his wrist shots. He took that stupid penalty for delay of game, and it was stupid, he had the puck on his forehand and then backhanded it into the crowd, that led to the PP goal. Once again Barzy with his figure skating loses the puck and then he skates 100 mph to makeup for it. I could go on but we all know the end result. As for Lou, something tells me that ownership has told him not to spend $$$ on free agents and on trades. Ledecky is the pitch man, he’s infront of the fans and that’s great but for ownership to say they have complete confidence in him is asinine. Lou’s playbook now says to fire Lane and I have no problem with that, he’s a robot during interviews, he shows no fire or emotion on the bench, he’s gotta go. Not only has the team become stale and boring, it seems the isles are more interested in saving money then putting a winning team together. I said it before and I’ll say it again, no premier player wants to come to the isles till either Lou is gone or he cuts out his no facial hair rule, I bet if he said you can have facial hair but it must be neat that would alleviate some of their fears, as for his other “professional” rules, I’ve got no problem with looking presentable but Lou has to lighten up or we’re doomed.

  5. This team is a joke. Clean house and start over. No one should be untradeable. They can’t even beat Ottawa. Pathetic.

  6. So tired of this team. So tired of what is coming with yet another RE-BUILD. RE-BUILD. RE-BUILD. RE-BUILD. Been that way since the dynasty died. Torrey almost left isles in re-build mode before pulling off the patty L/sneaky pete trade before he left. Milbury couldn't do it. Snow couldn't do it. A few measly playoff berths and first round exits between them. Now lou has done irrepairable damage that will last 5 + years after he leaves. That last cup is going on 40 years this spring. Never dreamed it would go past 40 years. Isles are gonna be in the 40 + year cup drought club with flyers and laffs soon. Meaning the other 5 original six teams, flames who entered nhl with isles, original expansion teams pens, la, blues, stars, wha merger oilers, av's (nords), canes (whale), teams that entered in '70's after isles nj (kc, rockies), caps, and post '90's expansion teams tb, ducks, have all won a cup since isles last cup win.

  7. What a mess. Team totally gave up. Plain and simple. Quit! Quit on the season. Quit on the fans. On the coach and GM. Back up the truck and hit the lights on your way out.

  8. I believe Isles need a rebuild. Not sure if it makes sense to give up assets to probably not make it out of first round with this roster even if you add a goal scorer. I would try to unload Nelson, Beau, Varly, Mayfield and Parise for sure. Nobody is going to take Bailey without Isles sending a draft pick. He has only one year left so I would just keep or cut him when the time comes.

  9. After 3 years of 'it isn't about who we have', it was refreshing to hear Lou finally, kinda, sort of recognize he has failed to provide the talent this team needs.

  10. The team is past its prime. Sure the defense and goaltending is in decent shape, but the forward group is a problem; too many of them are 30+ now, and overall take up too much cap space for what they provide. What could have offset this was the development of Barzal, but he hasn't become the superstar you would have expected.
The trade for forward help has already been made, it was Palmieri though it hasn't worked out. The only way they could upgrade the forward core is if the other team agrees to take Bailey/Palmieri back which isn't likely.

  11. Total confidence in the coaching staff? Does that include the PP coach? Because whoever runs their PP should have been fired years ago. I used to think Lou knew what he was doing. No longer. He's completely delusional if he thinks this team is competitive.

  12. The problems are many fold. First, in the two conference final seasons they had major winning streaks early in the season that buffered their late season drop offs. No win streak no playoffs period IMHO. They have become siginificantly less physical these last 2 years. Physicality is absolutely essential for the necessary fore check required to make their dump in and go get it offensive style as well as their best defensive performance under Trotz. Barzals performacne decreased since Tavarez left and even further since they let Eberle go. The Islanders really need the right winger with exceptional offensive skills to pair with Barzal to maximize his performance. He thinks way faster than the others and looks to me that many of the "mistakes" he makes are either from presiing to do too much or because he was expecting his wingers to do something different when passing. If he has the correct partner I believe his number will shoot up again. The Isle also got rid of some speed and good defensive talent in Leddy and Teawes. The team is to slow as a whole. They need to change their offensive approach. Dump in and go get it is not working. We are spending too much time defending becasue we dont "go get it" but rather lose it right away. I thnk this seasons game agasint Anaheim should be more of the template. Drive center ice, enter offemsive zone with possesion and good spacing, and bring the defense up on the rush which was successful in the ealry going this year. They play what looks like either disinterested or desperate brand of hockey for the most part. Nobody can shoot either! Virtually no break aways goals. They get out shot very near 2 to 1 a lot which is competely disrespecting Ilya and Varly. Lets face it the power play has been abysimal for years now. This is probably because they are also a poor passing team. Way too many "hope" passes to space just to individual offensive attacks with no reagrd that they may setup a better one by the opponent with a bad pass with no purpose other the immediate one. They also seem to only use one side of the ice to enact heir dump in offense. they rarely have good clear purpose driven spacing and essentially give up half the ice making the other teams defense easy by half. Their are way too many fundemental breakdowns for them to be winners. It is a serious issue that needsto be adressed among all the others above as well. I tink they gave up on Bellows too easily, they are missing Wally, Bailey needs to go (even though I personally like him), Beauvillier shows flashes but is not a consistent enough scorer, Pageau and Parise work very hard but it doesnt end up in goal production, Pelech being out has been a killer, and the list goes on.

  13. This team has no fight and thus garbage from Lou that it's his fault but yet nothing will be done because under Trotz the players were held accountable. Now you can F up and nothing gets done plus i'm not sure why we have a Captain and 2 assistants since none of them are leaders on the ice so i'm sure off is the same way. The Culture needs to change not at the deadline but NOW, TOMORROW but some how I know nothing will be done. Just remember Bailey and Beau could of been dealt but Lou would not retain any salary from those 2 so who would take them NOBODY.
