I think Brooks nails it here. Love Trochek but Chytil has earned a shot on PP1.
Tro is needed for faceoffs. Kreider or panarin should come off for chytil or kakko. We cant afford lost FOs with chytil and we need a lefty on the right circle.
As others have pointed out, Tro got most of his PP production as a net front guy. So either kreider comes off and bread shifts to bumper or bread comes off for a lefty
Literally no movement. Every play is aimed at feeding Mika for the one timer. What happened to the shots for Kreider to tip? Chytil would be a huge improvement over Blowcheck. I’d take Kakko as well.
Edit: Another way to improve would be to give the top unit 1 minute and 1 minute only per PP. If they know they have limited time to do something, maybe they’ll actually do something. And it gives the kids some real PP time.
The Clock King is actually right on this one. I think Trocheck is useful at winning faceoffs, but Chytil does deserve a shot on PP1.
Chytil is 17th in the entire league (best on NYR too) in primary point rate. He’s basically in the same tier as Matthews and Pettersson. Yes, he’s been that good
Despite that, he still sees more TOI with Schneider than with Fox, and he still can’t get on the top PP unit.
Again, we talk all the time on here about « earning it », and it can’t get more earning it than that, yet he still isn’t actually getting properly rewarded for it. Even worse is that the team as a whole is desperate for offense and needs Chytil to play more. But no matter what he does, Gallant won’t do what should be done
Gallant would never allow this. Old boys club over promising young talent is his bread and butter. He will not change.
Brooksie has been riding hard for Filip lately. Uncommon W for him but I’ll definitely take it

Been saying it since like week 3 that Chytil opposite Mika is devastating. Not only is he big and handles the puck well, he has a deadly shot. They can set either of them up for a one timer.
Won’t happen, Zbad score a one timer on the PP so now GG thinks the PP is fixed, all is well, back to normal
The answer is more minutes for the second unit.
I said this a while back, but I think we need our players who can best improvise and create plays on PP1. That means no more passing to Mika for a one-timer. I mean Kreider, Panarin, Chytil, Kakko, and Fox as PP1
