Mark Stone will be yet another player added to the already long LTIR list. But, his placement on LTIR will free up his cap hit, allowing Vegas some space to make some trades to make up for his lost presence on the ice.
But, this is a monumental loss for us, and this also could signal the end of Stone’s career as we’ve known it. Any version of Stone that still plays I doubt will be anything like what he used to be, though I would love to be wrong when I say that.

OMFG.
I guess this means that our season is doomed. Sure hope I’m wrong though.

this team completely crumbles without stone in the lineup. as much as i love stone, you can’t have a team built around him with his injury history. you also need to start having realistic expectations for what this team is this year and how far they can go. the truth is, not very far if anywhere at all.
it’s time to start shifting into rebuild mode and see what assets you can get for what little we have because by the end of the season it will be even less we’ll be able to get in return.

#Thanks for the memories.
Two back to back back surgeries is really bad. Enjoy retirement and a better quality of life

I will miss his massive knob.

Stones career was cut way to short. This makes me sad.
What pisses me off is he is leaving big shoes to fill as C and it’s going to create a vacuum. (See flower for reference)
Enjoy the R and R buddy..

Wishing you a fast recovery, captain. You are definitely missed. ;_;

Stupid hypothetical thought about what could be done with Stonies position. This,will NOT happen but would be fun and interesting.
Right now, San Jose needs Goalies. Trade the rights away from Lehner to San Jose in exchange for Timo, maybe throw in Kessel in there. Use some of the LTIR from Stone to support Mier’s contract and use the rest to go after Pasta. Of course, what the hell am I saying because Boston isn’t going to accept that ,at all. Would be fun though eh

Happiness and a full recovery to him.
I think we can all agree his return would be a blessing.

Sounds like we’re gonna lease a player that’s for sure, hope we don’t give much up to do so, we desperately need youth in our system and since we have almost all of our future picks still, I’d prefer to just struggle out this season without replacing Stone for now, if it means retaining the picks.
