This whole event is absolute garbage.
I’ll Give marner some credit for trying to do something flashy but the empty area just sucks the live outta this event.

I know the all star game is fun but this is actual trash. Who wants to watch players try with 1/4 effort and to be schlepped through theatrics that entertain nobody?

I was hoping Mitch rips off his jersey and it reveals an 88 Willy Styles…… or Willy Styles shows up and does the shot instead.

The highlight so far has been McJesus hitting all 4 targets in under 10 seconds. Everything else has been garbage.
Can’t wait to see him make a drop pass and have freaking Kampf show up who puts it in.
Basically sums up the entire AllStar event.
Why? Is he trying to pass it?
this whole damn thing is so cringey – feels like the NHL and the players are trying so hard to be fun, witty, and entertaining – it’s really sad to watch.
Mitch was lip licking a bit to much. Crockett had a bit to much sugar
I wish some PR firm could just rehabilitate the NHL’s whole image, marketing, outreach like I would actually somehow be more excited about that than this.
So based on the feedback, I’m pretty glad I didn’t bother watching- it’s not NHL hockey. It’s stars on vacation pretending they care with minimal effort. I don’t mind the stars not caring because there’s no incentive. The league should continue to host it in sunshine states because it’s better for the players. It’s a week off in the middle of a long, busy season and I wish them all the best. Let them get tans and enjoy themselves. Some of these guys have to play in Winnipeg or Edmonton, or worst of all Columbus- give these fellas a break.
