  1. Canucks management is following their past patterns. It’s good to see that they will never learn. How’s that cup hunt working out?

  2. Isles win the trade today but if Raty turns into a good second line center and the first turns into a top pairing defensemen I think Canucks win in the long run.

  3. WOWsa!!! This I did not see coming at all-of all the teams we've discussed Horvat possibly going to, I didn't think it would be the Islanders–this could be huge for them and the Canucks get a start on the retool/rebuild that's coming. Now, we see how it plays out long-term, but, I'm betting Horvat is happy to be going to the NYI.

  4. I have a feeling that The Canucks will flip Beauvillier to a Contender…possibly in the Metro to a team NYI wouldn't want to send him to?? [Caps,Canes or NYR?].

  5. Doesn't change anything. Islanders are not a cup contending team. This is a trade, nothing more. 🤦‍♀️

  6. Well the first major trade has gone down and I think the rest of the league will start moving players now

  7. Its this simple. If we resign Horvat long-term, its a steal.
If Horvat walks, Lou must be fired.
    No middle ground

  8. It's a good trade both sides unless isles cant resign him
Canucks get 1st,2nd line center If they don't like him can flip for a 2nd maybe low first, and a prospect.who could be top 9 player.
And isles get leader guy hard to play against fits their style, can be one 2 punch with Barzal and fit well with team. Obviously if he doesn't re sign is horrible for them if goes free agency anyway.

  9. Wow.. thought Isles were more into a winger (Tarasenko, Meier etc), so surprised at this one. Lamarillo no doubt will have Horvat extended shortly. Isles obviously win this deal in the short term. Long term, who knows? Raty seems to be generally respected as a solid prospect. Wonder who the Canucks asked for off the d core, but were declined. Given that Horvat is a pending UFA, the somewhat at present underwhelming return should not be a surprise. Canucks did "okay" I guess.

  10. Islander don't have a great prospect pool kinda odd seeing them trade away great young prospects and a 1st rounder plus there a older team. Hope it pans out for you islanders.

  11. I don't get it. From what I understand, the holdup in negotiating a contract extension with Vancouver was that Horvat believes he's worth Mathew Barzal money while Canucks GM Pat Allvin doesn't. So he trades him to . . . the Islanders. You know, Barzal's team. Yeah, I bet that's gonna work out great for Loopy Lou Lamoriello, epsecially if he actually tries to resign Horvat. Seriously, Horvat already put a number on what he expects to be paid–and did so before the season began, when Vancouver was expected to be a playoff team instead of one playing the Connor Bedard sweepstakes–and made it clear he'd leave Vancouver in the offseason if they didn't give it to him. I can't expect that's changed along with his sweater. Fact is, this looks more like a rental and, if that's the case, I'd say Vancouver came out the winner here.

  12. Lou Lamoreillo is a genius trade for Bo Horvat 2013 now got him back canucks need Right shot Defense still next on the list

  13. I can see Hughes wanting to be traded to a team in the US next.

  14. BEST THING that EVER HAPPENED FOR BO ! NO FUTURE FOR the CANUCKS, NEVER GOING ANYWHERE.

  15. Horvat has to have Barzal on his wing. It wasn't talked about ever much but horvat had the best release and most accurate shot on the Canucks. He needs someone on the wing who can win board battles and is a playmaker with some finish as well. If they put him with defensive wingers they're wasting Bo's time

  16. Canucks need a good defenseman , this trade doesn't address the weakest part of their team.

  17. This trade could be a W for the Isles, but it could also be an L. Canucks get a terrible return in my opinion. So it could be a lose-lose trade or an Isles fleece.

  18. I heard the Sabres are interested in Boeser. Sabres have a 1st and three 2nd round picks. Maybe there is a fit there.

  19. Glad this annoying Horvat saga is over. Thankfully he didn't go to a real contender ✅. Isles won't make the playoffs this year….who knows how next year will shape up. This trade PROVES that rumours are just that…. rumours. Everyone had this guy being traded to this team or that team and everywhere in between.

  20. Hate to see Bo Go…. but we could pay him a lot more and we would still have the same crappy team. Tear it down to the studs, petterson, hughs demko.

  21. Islanders got a steal if Horvat resigns or has already talked with him about a trade. A bunch of what ifs for Vancouver and 5.5m added to the cap next season.

  22. Happy with deal from Islanders fan perspective. Sure the first and Raty stings a bit but you have to give to get. Sometimes one guy has an effect up and down the lineup – I’m hopeful that can be the case here. I suspect as you suggest that more moves could possibly come now/later re forward group. I was hoping for Horvat in his draft year..I’ll settle for now (with an extension). Thanks for the coverage – you do a nice job with the rumor mill.

  23. I'll say One Thing for Lou Lamarillo. He may have not done much in the Summer, but, when He does Make A Move, It's Huge.

  24. There’s no way they move Nelson unless they’re bringing somebody else in to replace his Offence

  25. This is a decent return for Horvat. A lot better than letting him walk for nothing. I hope we can draft Axel Sandin Pellikka with the Isle's pick. 🙂

  26. i think barzal or nelson will be shifted to wing horvat on the first line. either one of them will benefit, and whoever isn’t on that line will center the 2nd. they will probably try many combinations before settling, but I highly doubt thst nelson will be traded.

  27. thanks Bo, you came here worked hard gave us your all,

and now got us decent return for your leave. I am grateful!
