  1. Horavt isnt a play driver. He's a 1 man show sometimes, will go end-to-end toe drag and score. He'll win faceoffs. Grind down low, tip pucks, nice shot. He is not a play maker either… it doenst matter who he plays with, he'll do his thing..which is good if used correctly. He doesnt really drive play as one would expect, meaning that his line will secure possession, hold possession, generate momentum…. he'll generate his own momentum in solo efforts… whether that's a turnover or an indvidual play… he always leaves you wanting more…but at the end of the day, the stat line is what the stat line is! and thus he does deliver

  2. Agreed he was never good defensively. Great faceoff guy but terrible on the PK. He will not be missed. Can't imagine what a huge mistake it would have been to sign him 8 by 8. Now I just wish they had traded Miller as well before signing him that truly awful contract.

  3. It's like Bo went to the school of Pavelski last summer with all those deflection goals this season.

  4. Sad to see him go but we cannot afford him. Canucks chose TJ Miller over him.

  5. When you look at a struggling Islanders team, no one on that squad outside Barzal is a better offensive player. He had one year where he had 85 points, now he averages that same 60 ish. With the powerplay being so atrocious and the isles in desperate need of a sniper. This was an awesome move. Barzal is constantly setting up teammate’s and they can’t put it in the net. With the isles having strong defense and 2 solid keepers, Bo was the missing piece. Just hope they can get some chemistry before its too late.

  6. It’s sad that people only see Bo as a one dimensional player, he does a little bit of everything imo. Islander fans will love him.

  7. Bo could probably keep this pace up for a while now hes like the Sedin's in their prime 26-27 that's when there game really peeked and Bo has been this 30 goal scorer on this Canucks team even when they weren't good last year too he's only gonna get keep getting better, improving at almost everything defensively not so much.

I don't blame him on the PK all the time with the defensive we had structured on this team hasn't been able to pk very good at all besides for Petey & Schenn.
I can see Bo being a legit 80 – 100 pt player per year until he's like maybe 34-35 ish maybe it'll probably cool down a bit, and with him being snake bitten lightly with goal production was because of the noise going on, we can tell that he didn't really want to leave.

  8. If the Islander do thank this year and BO gets flipped you guys essentially got nothing for him. What possessed you guys to think sneaking in the playoffs last year was acceptable is beyond me now you have lost two years worth of tanking. Imagine the haul if you traded both miller and Bo at the start of the season or as soon as this regime took over. You guys are now looking at least five years of rebuilding without any really assets to get extra 1st round picks too bad

  9. As a Canucks fan, I think Bo has been taken for granted. So, I don't totally agree with your assessment. Bo has always been a team player taking on tough match-ups and other unsung stuff the coaches ask him to do regardless of how it effected his personal stats. So this year, he was being a little bit selfish, as he should be. Therefor this year, was more of what he is capable of than previous years.

Just depends on what the Islanders ask of him.

  10. One thing us Islander fans could care less about is a good defensive player…. Nelson, JG P, Casey Cizkas can play PK and win faceoffs. We need a totally irresponsible line of Barzal, Bo, and Wahlstom. We cant score.

  11. Don't listen to this horseshit Isles fans, Bo has never got to play with first line wingers so that is why he has never really scored a lot of points until this year. He finally got to play with a first line guy in Milsy and you see the results. Most of the time he has not had that second winger to compliment his play and many of the wingers he has played with in his career are not even second line wingers and most of them not even in the league any more. Once he gets used to his new line mates he will get the points and you guys will be happy. Bo is a good two way player contrary to the same idiots that say he is a 60 point player. What Bo is not is a good penalty killer. He can't block shots so if you can't block shots you got no business on the PK. His good points will make up for his lack of shot blocking ability, so don't sell your good PK guys. When Bo gets to play with good wingers he will be fine, if not he will still get you 60 points with crappy wingers but will still help you on the PP and puck possession cuz he wins so many draws. Can't wait to see what he can do for the Islanders. I guess i will have to cheer for them since there doesn't seem to be any other teams i like except for the Oilers.

  12. Bo's slump only started after the there were serious trade talks with him.
If NYI support this guy and back him up, he'll perform.

  13. Canucks will miss Bo, with his great one-timer at the bumper spot, along with his heavy hard to move body to deflect pucks into the net in front of goaltenders. Apparently, he developed all that in recent years with private coaching. His skating was drastically improved from his rookie year also. I am sure Bo can score 50 goals this year at the very least now he will play with Barzal on the power play or even as his linemate. Good luck, Captain Bo

  14. Leggo has never had much good to say about Horvat. I personally would say he was more valuable to the team than Petersen. When the game was on the line every coach had Horvat on the ice and not necessarily Pettersen. The Canucks are going to miss him. I guess 4 assists in his last game shows the slump he was in.

  15. Horvat is an amazing addition in the short term. The team is kind of screwed long-term, but they're pot committed at this point so there's no point in taking half-measures.
Islanders have the 4th ranked pk, but they suck at draws outside of Pageau so that seems like a good fit. Islanders powerplay sorely needed an upgrade at the bumper position so another check there. I wonder if they put Barzal and Horvat together with Horvat taking draws but Barzal operating as a Marner type puck transporting winger. I realistically hope Bo settles in as more of a 35-40 goal scorer.
Edit: For the Canucks fans, I think Beauvillier has really stagnated in the past couple of regular seasons. He flies all over the ice but doesn't accomplish much for how often you notice him. I feel like the prototypical Beauvillier play is him carrying the puck in one on one but getting forced to the outside and taking a very low percentage shot.
I would guess Raty becomes a middle six player, could either be a center or a winger. At the NHL level so far I've really liked his shot but he hasn't been great at sneaking into soft areas to receive passes in prime scoring locations. Could be a result of his linemates, but could also be a hole in his game.

  16. Watch Bo gets reflipped at tdl and islers gets way more than Canucks. Imagine another 25% retained and Bo scores another ten goals before then.

  17. I honestly would like to see a Parise – Horvat – Barzal line. Horvat can win the faceoffs, Parise is a smart and good defensive forward, Barzal can bring the puck to the offensive zone real quick with his speed.

  18. Only 2 goals but 8 assists😂😂😂 stop trying to downplay Bo bro. If stamkos gets 2 goals and 8 assists in 10 games hes praised. If kucherov does it he’s praised yet Bo doing it is downplayed?? Nah bro

  19. I’m not sure why the Islanders traded for Bo? The Islanders need a rebuild. The Islanders have 12 guys on their roster on the wrong side of 30! My guess is in the off-season they will buy some people out and maybe move out some of those 30 plus year old players? That being said, I am very happy for Bo and wish him well for the rest of his career!

  20. islanders are gritty team with great goaltending and now with horvat if they make the playoffs they will give anyone even the bruins a tough time

  21. You never know with guys like Räty. Could have similar development as Roope Hintz

  22. I really like the player, but why are all of the good players going to the states?Well I will tell you why because they know with Bettman as commisioner they no that a Canadian team will never win the cup.Not is it a problem for Canadian players who would rather play at home but it's becoming a huge problem for the fans.
If a Canadian team doesnt win a cup within 2 years Canadian teams will fold.
What does this mean?It MEANS THAT THERE WILL BE AN NBA expansion to other Canadian cities.Maybe massive a lose of revenue to the NHL will make them realise that they are screwing up.
An AHL is what you will have Garry

  23. I think if Raty was really the next big thing we wouldn’t have also given a first
