It would be interesting for you to do a worst to first list ala St. Louis Blues to see what a 4th or 5th Tier would have to do to make a deep playoffs run and potentially win it all. Lots of chatter at the All-Star Game talking about a change to the playoff format, that would prevent it. In defense of Columbus when you have only 1 skater who has played every game, combined with the team being so injured (seriously even their AHL team is injured to hell and back.) They are so injured with the organization they can't send young guys down for a potential playoff push because there is no one to call up. This season has been cursed from the word go (or a blessing because of stacked the top of the draft is.)

Good tier list. The only thing I disagree with is that how are the Washington Capitals not in a locked playoff position because they've made the playoffs 14 times of the last 15 years and won the cup in 2017-18?

Wings are in no man's land for now….. They have the prospects and skill but haven't tuned the machine quite yet. The Lightning and Leafs are getting closer to either readjusting or rebuilding and Boston might not be the team they are this year as a default.
