A PPG and a SHG to finish out the game. Oilers won the special teams battle tonight. And Detroit gets haunted by those two posts in the first period.
Looking at the Oilers' schedule, they have yet to play Boston, Toronto, Ottawa, and Philadelphia from the Eastern conference. They also have one game left against Detroit, Montreal, the Rangers, Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Buffalo to round out their remaining schedule against Eastern teams. Of those 14 games, at least 8 of them are winnable. Maybe we get a split against either Boston or Toronto.
In the Western conference, their only remaining games against the Central are as follows:
2 games each against Winnipeg, Colorado, and Arizona.
1 game against Dallas
The Oilers should be able to take both games against Arizona, but I don't know about the other games.
They also have 10 games left against divisional opponents. 3 against San Jose, 2 against Anaheim, LA and Vegas each, and 1 against Seattle.
LA, Seattle, and Vegas are the Top 3 in the division, so it would be huge to take games from them. Oilers should win the remaining games against Anaheim and San Jose, at least.
