Hajek is a young LD, could be a good option if we do indeed trade Gavy

He has struggled with the Rangers. Why would we take a chance ?

Do we really need another 6/7th dman?

    He’s arguably worse than Gudbranson

More depth couldn’t hurt. Would be nice to keep some of the guys in Cleveland that can help get them into the playoffs if/when Gavi is traded. They’ve also got 5 open contract spots still so plenty of space there.

  6. I wouldn’t but I know he’s one of those that could use a fresh start players.

« While he was never supposed to be a big offensive threat, the 6’2″ defenseman hasn’t been effective in his own end, either, At this point, he was a potential candidate to go unqualified in the summer. That doesn’t guarantee he’ll pass through, though, as teams often give high draft picks (especially defensemen) extra chances to prove their worth at the NHL level. On a one-year, $800K contract, it might be worthwhile for a rebuilding club. »

Someone will take a flyer on him…just not sure Jarmo would.

A good rule of thumb is if fans are happy to see their team put a guy on waivers you probably don’t want him either.
