Dominant game from Blackwood. I can’t give up on him because even though he’s not consistent like that every game, his pure athleticism is elite. He has the talent to be a premier goalie (dear god minus the puck handling skills) in the NHL. He won us that game.
Power play looked fantastic tonight. I said this last game but they rely WAYYYYYYYY too much on Jack. It’s much easier for PKs to shift to Jack’s side if he’s just going to get the puck every time. Need to be focusing on creating looks for everyone on the ice and not just funneling the offense through Jack.
Penalty Kill was elite tonight. Mostly due to Blackwood, but they had some big kills that really turned this game around for us.
Would like to see Jack get fewer looks on the PP to create changes for the rest of the guys out there and make the PP more effective. They absolutely have the talent to score from anywhere.
BMW line was our best line in terms of maintaining zone time. Good to see them clicking and giving the team momentum. Really strong game from all of them.
Some bad turnovers in our own zone, Blackwood bailed tf out of us this game. He was hung out to dry. Bahl needs to be quicker with the puck.

I hate that Mac did not get that shutout, but I’ll say it, sometimes I wish Larsson was back with this new, better roster (and no PDB).
And games like that are what makes Blackwood so frustrating. Absolutely dominant. Keep racking up the points!

Feels like this was a lot better game defensively tonight. Noticeably less odd man rushes and break aways agaisnt the Devils.
Plenty of blocked shots. Still struggles clearing the zone but that seems like it maybe an all year thing, but at least it wasn’t giving up goals.
Closed my eyes for 5 seconds towards the end of the 1st and suddenly the games over and Dougies on screen with a big hat. Looks like I missed two good periods, can’t wait to catch the replay

There were 6 games tonight where a Western Conference team played an Eastern Conference team. 5 of them were won by the East — the only loss for our playoff competition was the Isles losing to the Canucks. Even Filthadelphia beat the Oilers.
I was just taking a look at the rest of our February schedule keeping in mind that we may be Jack-less for a lot of it, and I actually think this is fairly good month for us to bank lots of points and also the least harmful month for us to not have Jack.
We will be playing the Wild, Columbus, the Blues, the Pens, the Jets, Montreal, the Kings, and Philly.
Montreal and Columbus should be games we should dominate.
I think we have a very high chance of winning against Philly and St. Louis, but not as easy as the previous two. And those should be games that we grab points.
I’d say the Pens, the Kings, and the Wild are the next tier. I think these teams are also very beatable, but may prove to be harder time. But I still feel like we could grab points from these games.
The Jets is a true test game for us.
Looking at all of that, I think we have a really good shot at coming away with at least ten to twelve points this month.

I had a very good time at the game tonight.
Sat in 215 – there were about 15 8-10 year old girls in our section with a group outing that we’re bringing the energy. Absolutely awesome time!
