Après une impressionnante victoire en prolongation contre le Colorado au PPG Paints Arena, les Penguins de Pittsburgh ont pris la route de la Californie pour affronter les Ducks d’Anaheim lors de leur premier de trois matchs contre les équipes de Golden State. Les Penguins sont sortis chauds, inscrivant trois buts (Joseph, Kapanen et Carter) en première période de jeu pour prendre une avance de 3-1 à l’entracte. Le PO Joseph a retrouvé le fond du filet une fois de plus en deuxième, lui donnant son premier match à buts multiples en carrière dans la LNH. Pittsburgh a poursuivi son score en troisième, obtenant une paire de buts de Bryan Rust et Jake Guentzel. La mention d’aide d’Evgeni Malkin sur le but de Rust lui a permis de franchir le cap des 1 200 points en carrière, un exploit accompli par seulement 50 joueurs dans l’histoire de la LNH. Les Ducks tenteraient de se rallier tard dans le troisième, mais les Penguins les retiendraient pour une victoire de 6-3. Big win today
Proud of P.O for his two goals tonight. It is nice to see some uncommon faces on the scoreboard for this season like Joseph, Kapanen, Carter. I was satisfied with most of DeSmith's game besides the last few minutes, and definitely felt we had most if not all the momentum in this game. Lets continue this road trip and make it into something to orbit us into the playoffs.
