[NEXT DAY] Fil du jeu 52/82 : Devils at Wild 2023.02.11.

Tout ce que je peux dire, c’est qu’un point vaut un peu mieux que zéro point. Meh, au suivant… Qu’est-ce que tu as en tête ?

  1. Got the point. Played well. Shootout needs to be abolished

Another game of poor start, bad breakouts, and a predictable structure other teams figure out quick. Two points is two points, and this is more observation than complaint, but this isn’t a sustainable strategy for winning.

I wonder if there’s an agreement in place for Brunette and Ruff switching roles, or for Lindy’s retirement/resignation. I think he’d excel in a player development role, but there are weaknesses being exposed and I don’t think Brunette signed up to be an assistant for 3 years.

Completely unrelated, but had to watch the Minnesota feed and really enjoyed it.

The Wild have made the playoffs 9/10 times over the past 10 seasons. We’ve made it 1/10 times. We got a point without Jack. I can’t be mad about this. It was bad puck luck for all of their goals.

  4. People were way too hard on the Wild for cellying hard. They called us a top 3 team and they broke a losing skid, I know we would be just as fired up on the other side of that.

  5. I don’t really care about losing in the shootout. Would’ve liked the 2 points but oh well.

Was not expecting Shannon to put us at #2 in the power rankings. That was as nice to see as Boston finally coming back to Earth

I had a song about Vitek that i was gonna post when he won it in OT. Ah well, I guess I’ll have to save it for Thursday 😔

Maybe it’s because it’s the first time we’re playing competitive hockey in 10 years, but I couldn’t care less about “catching Carolina” like the rest of this sub.

Just secure a playoff spot, which we will at this pace.

Beyond that, none of this matters except for games in mid-April.

  9. gothenburgpig

Please, after the last ten years I have had watching this team, why can’t this sub just let people enjoy this season? I live outside of NJ and just want to talk Devils with people who care because I’m so excited and 1/3 of the comments are about how poorly the Devils are playing

I started dating my partner a few years ago and she is actually marveling at how I don’t shut off the games in anger annymore after the first period.

I’ll take 3 points outta 4 on the road in the first two games we lose Hughes for every fucking time.

Wish Sharangovich coulda buried one of his opportunities and ended the game, but is what it is. Hopefully the kid is back by end of next week.

The boys were skating hard by the end of this one. Their goalie is mad good. Can’t be mad about this one. Wild def have some great talent on their team

Shango and Bratt leaving pts on the board tho, cmon guys.

And we still outplayed them OT, shootouts just always suck.

  12. beastboy4246

I think this game shows that Bratt and Shango should play together a bit more. I like Mercer on the top line with Nico and Palat they were moving pretty well. Bratt did a good job of getting Shango some room on the ice and letting him rip the puck. Zetts had some good legs as well

  13. lilkrow73

Does anyone know if Jack is traveling with the team? I bet the boys miss his smile in the locker room

  14. ghostwalken1776

If the breakout passes just had a touch more force behind them, I wouldn’t mind it..they’re professional hockey players, how come my beer league has stronger breakout passes..the weak attempts at a chip up the boards are becoming increasingly painful to watch. Hell, fire that fucker to make the people watching in the first row flinch..you don’t have to ice the bitch, but you could smack the ever living fuck outta it in a way that the offensive defenseman has to spend a second more just wrangling the puck to try to maintain possession, which gives you a shot at bullying the puck outta the zone. That all said, I’ll gladly take the point..wasn’t the worse I’ve seen them play but the damn gray zone possessions are getting bad

  15. wwacbigirish

Happy to see Tuna get on the scoresheet. He plays hard as hell and deserves it.

I’m not going to lie, I’m a little disappointed. I had been looking at our February schedule (before Hughes got injured), and was thinking there was a chance we could go undefeated.
