Let’s start by saying I don’t care we lost or if we don’t make the playoffs. If you told me this is where we would be at this point in the season with our key players improving like they have, I would of saw this as a huge win. Having said that:
– When you start Okposo and Mitts in the top 6 against a team like LA this is what you get. Not only are they in the top 6 but they are on the Powerplay AND the Penalty kill. Just unacceptable. Mitts is given chance after chance after chance. has to be force fed down our throats all year and he has what 3 even strength goals to show for it? Give me a break. Okposo man I love you but you but you are best suited for the 4th line and nothing else please.
– The Sabres powerplay is like a piece of shit plated in gold. Thompson being the gold. If we can’t force feed a one-timer to Tage then we literally cannot do anything. This needs to be fixed.
– When is Krebs going to be rewarded for good play? The kid is EASILY our 3rd best C and should be given the 3rd line and really try to make it his own like Thompson/Cozens have with their lines. I think moving him to the 4th line was great and helped Krebs ‘find his game again’ but he is not a 4th line grinder. Hes a great skating, pucking moving centre with great vision. He deserves to play with better players. Put him with someone who can score (Olofsson). He at least deserves a shot. But instead what do I see? I see lines get changed and Mitts moves up but Krebs stays on the 4th line. Don’t tell me we need to figure out what we have in Mitts. So Krebs can suffer for it? His growth can be stunted? For what?
– We’re carrying 3 goalies for what reason again?
– Donny. If you lose games 4-1, 5-0, etc and you still have all your timeouts that’s fucking bad and it needs to change. It might not even do anything in the end but its laughable that we consistently get back-to-back goals scored on us and he never, ever, calls a timeout.
Again, I don’t care we lost. It’s just super annoying seeing the same mistakes over and over and over again. Super done with Mitts and Okposo. Just done.

Well I guess the good news is the Sabres showed up with 10 minutes left in the 3rd when they were down 5-0? Anderson was a sieve tonight and special teams are a disaster right now.

Get okposo away from tage Thompson. Krebs deserves more ice time. Okposo is a 4th liner at this point. Keep the original 1st line together. Put Krebs with cozens and Quinn and put Peterka with oloffson and mittelstadt. Fourth line would be okposo, jost, girgensons/asplund. Don’t complicate it by putting players out of their roles on the team.

Just gotta figure out their way out of the funk. Same thing happened earlier in the season with the 9 game losing streak. Hopefully they figure it out faster than that.

We need to come out .500 on the trip, expecting wins against winnable teams in sj and Anaheim is risky but doable. I did not like the line tinkering. I agree with an above comment that krebs and jost should flop places. Mitts, a dud when he was given a lot of opportunity…if we are trying to showcase him for trades, maybe mystery serves us better…

Krebs has been one of if not the most consistent player on the team, he’s shown us how good he can be with no talent, he’s got the two way acumen, he’s learning to develop a scoring threat to open up the passing lanes for himself, he had a great night when there wasn’t much to praise. I hope he gets rewarded for it but honestly I wouldn’t put him with mitts Olof because that’s punishment. Overall I’ve been very happy with how the szn has gone, tonight sucked, it’s annoying to waste our games in hand like this but im just happy that it’s post all star break and we can actually be mad about the playoff race a bit, nice change of pace. They’ll get off this slump, they’ve been doing it all year.
