1. In the second period the Leafs forwards stopped defending completely and just tried to pad their offensive stats. That isn''t really surprising when the coach doesn't demand defense from his players. And no whiny comments after the game is finished isn't demanding defense. Hell, Keefe has probably already apologized to the team for his comments. Benching guys at the bottom of the lineup doesn't send a message either. He has to be willing to demand two way play from the guys at the top of the pay scale.

Holl was bad, but if no one else cares why should he? Why should he bust his ass to defend when the other players who should be helping him are floating around at the blue line waiting for a chance to blow the zone.

Chychrun is made of glass. I'm not really that sad he went somewhere else.

Myers. At league minimum. Sure. More than that. No thanks.

  2. If that trash can on skates Holl is on this team come playoffs we don't have a chance

  3. Why do you think that Bunting and Nylander we’re getting frustrated?? It’s because in the second period they were getting SLAMMED! The CBJ came in the second with a physical game and the leafs fell apart. They don’t have the size or strength to push back! Dubas should have fixed this a long time ago. We have way too many small guys and/or cowards, and for any team that has that strength, it’s an easy go to against the Leafs. And in the playoffs, that’s when the errant passes start happening, the turnovers, and the pucks over the glass. The Leafs are the weaker team and everybody knows it except for punkazz Dubas and punkazz Leafs fans.

  4. I think gio holl can be an OK 3rd pairing, sandin liljigren as second pair and Reilly brodie as first pairing. Leafs need a strong physical presence in the net front though and unfortunately that's not holl. It's not just about moving and pushing people, you need to have the spatial awareness of when there is an opposing player near the net. Holl didn't even know Johnson was there for the tip in when they goal happened.

Here's to hoping that knies coming in can help with a physical presence up front. He doesn't need to be on first or second line just have a strong physical presence.

All this to say one more right side d that is a net front nuisance, and maybe another forward with some grit.
