Honestly? Fair enough – He’s playing well, but doesn’t have the stupidly good numbers of last year. Give him a few years to prove he can do it year after year and he’ll easily be number one.

Wait…a post NOT about Kravstov? Is this allowed!?!?

Vasy has played at an elite level for seven years, once Igor gets some more years on his stats sheet I wouldnt be surprised if he nets out as as good or better than vasy full career vs full career (given that Igor will win the next three cups in a row)

That’s fair. He’s dipped a bit this season, but he’s still winning an overwhelming majority of the games he starts. And we all know what he’s capable of.

My favorite part of this is the “acrobatic saves” thing. Yeah, he’s made a few show-stopping saves, but the most impressive thing is how calm he is in net and how his positioning and patience often makes high danger chances look like routine saves.

Win a cup (or two) and it all changes :).

Igor will have his time. Vasy has been THE elite goaltender in the NHL for several years now. He is going to be the undisputed #1 for a bit longer with his track record and cup wins.

This is correct. Vasy has 2 rings and multiple finals. Shesty will get there, but he’s rightfully in second place IMO

Curious where Ullmark is on the list. He’s having one of heck of season so far

They mention he had the most second place votes. Which I think reenforces the « best young goalie ». He has set the bar for a top goalie, but doesn’t have the duration to hold the top spot yet.

  11. Being ranked at #2 is exactly the correct spot for Igor. Vasy is a beast, and has five consecutive top-5 Vezina finishes, which is basically what Hank did for a decade straight. Igor can get there, but he needs to create that track record for a few years. Vasy has basically already done enough to be a Hall of Famer.

Vasy is legit. This is fair

Vasys just big. Make Igor that size we win a cup last year

I love Igor but it’s hard not to put Vasy at #1 when you look at his trophy case
