Legit feels like I’m taking an ex back. I had considered Vrana a lost cause and now he’s back. My little heart can’t take much more

Someone on the move? Someone going down? Someone getting waived?

Ryan Hana is a great dude, great to see him breaking some info if this is true.

So this means Raymond is likely out awhile? Damn. Glad Vrana seems to be doing better but that will hurt.

It bothered me the way people have been talking about this all along. “Vrana has played his last game in a Red Wings sweater. Vrana must have done something really terrible. Vrana has fallen out of favor with Wings management” etc, as if they know what’s going on behind the scenes. Yeah, we waived him, but this is a pretty unprecedented situation to send someone down on waivers after the PA program. I could totally see some sort of handshake agreement or just basic human dignity among GMs, not to claim a guy who clearly just needed some stability in his life. He honestly did need more time in the AHL after months of (I assume) no hockey, no training, no exercise, so it makes sense he would he be in a tough state.

This isn’t totally over yet. He could still be traded or sent back down, or who knows what, but I’m glad it looks like he’ll be coming back and I too hope he has a long career as a Red Wing.

u/funkshow got anything to say about this?

I don’t doubt that this may be the plan at the moment, but until it actually happens, plans can change.

Hope this is true. He’s a great goal scorer something we need (every team needs).

I hope he can mesh in well again with this young group. Seemed like he was the perfect fit.

Man, it would make me so happy if Vrana could come back and be a solid part of the Wings after all that’s happened… all the rumors and assumptions saying he’s done in Detroit. What a story that would be.

  13. MajorasShoe

There’s no one we should be waiving right now. This is a trade.

  14. I_see_something

Honestly I hope this takes. With their new going offense recently I hope he’s able to play with confidence and add to that scoring

  15. MariachiArchery

Ok, Ok. I owe you all an apology. I was so wrong about Vrana.

It’s possible I missed some info from earlier in the season, but are the Wings dead set on carrying eight defensemen? I know Walman’s dinged up right now, but perhaps he’s good to go tomorrow or heading to IR.

I’m not ruling out a Bert trade or forward being waived, but maybe one of Hagg or Lindstrom could be waived instead?

  17. slantastray

Guessing somebody to IR in the short term? Need a forward trade to open a permanent spot. Could see Oesterle getting waived as he has a higher cap hit than Hagg and would be less likely to be picked up.

Bert to Edmonton, after travel, before tomorrow’s game.

Dang, crazy Pagnotta was wrong again… Turns out he probably has no idea why Vrana was in players assistance either.

  20. dkyguy1995

Dont play with my heart like this

  21. Ydoesany1doanything

Someone in the replies took a selfie with Vrana as they’re on the same flight to Denver it seems
