Someone post this on the panthers sub

I mean the prospect is meh, the fourth is a fourth and picks in future years have less value. So equating a future first to a current second and the deal makes a bit more sense. Seems like whoever wrote this article had his dog kicked by Chariot.

That’s revisionist. Chiarot is not a superstar but a legit number four and specially useful in playoffs. Just like Savard was an year before for Tampa. It’s not because Florida choked that he becomes a bad player.

  4. djohnston02

Chariot was never a third pairing D in Montreal…. But that says more about the habs than it does Chariot.

Ngl chiarot was good here. Played big minutes just penalties were a problem otherwise fine

  6. bcgrappler

This is dumb as shit. He isn’t worth the 4.75 he got from Detroit but he is a very good 4/5 Dman who skates well and well this is just shit writing for clicks.

    Also florida paid to much.

  7. burner-raven1

Never was a big fan of him in Montréal, but he was unreal in the 21 playoffs and was always more than a 3rd pairing guy

  8. rpgguy_1o1

Florida brought him in because cross checks are legal in the playoffs

Trade deadline deals are almost never indicative of the player’s value. It’s only indicative of how much the acquiring team think they need that player, relatively to the prevailing market, to help them in a playoffs run.

There’s no point in saying Chiarot doesn’t deserve a 1st. The question is: did the Panthers feel like they could afford to throw a 1st to the Habs to get him. The answer was yes. But it has no bearing on who Chiarot is. Shitting on the guy is unwarranted.

If Chiarot was still on the team, he would be the best vet D lmao.

Chiarot is an underrated player. The guy did us wonders. I’d sign him again for him to end his career with us. If Seider is such « Elite » as people claim, he’s supposed to make Chiarot better instead of Chiarot making him worse.

  12. Offthepine

    3rd pairing defender??

Who the fuck wrote that analysis, just trash.

Chiarot is top 4 dman through and through.

  13. Ray_Pingeau

This is a shit take from start to finish

  14. ItzEnoz

A lot of homers in this comment section who really have a hard time evaluating how good a player is

  15. Shifty_Pickle826

What’s with the rose tinted glasses on Chiarot here lmao? I mean I love the man but he was not a good defenseman. He dragged Weber down when Webs was forced to babysit him and he did the same to Seider for the first half of the season.
