1. These bird brains have been hyping the Leafs for years.they last won in 67 ,what a joke!the Leaf fans are either very loyal or just plain stupid

  2. The Leafs are most fascinating – how can Leafs be the worst playoff series losers in the NHL for past decades? It is something Leafs fans like us have just come to accept. Without strategic planning by Leafs GM all these trade ideas will just result in another first round exit for the Leafs again.

  3. wow we get lied to our face and friedman is like you should be thanking bettman for deigning to open his mouth

  4. If the Leafs add Timo Meier and Jake McCabe…ohh boy. But they would 100% have to give up Matthew Knies for that to happen.

  5. I was a Leafs fan until '73. I've happily watched them fail year after year. The city of Toronto might be hostages to this failure of an organization, but real hockey fans don't even watch Canadian television. We prefer winners.

  6. I wish all the sports reporters would stop with all this talk about Toronto needing forwards when all they need to do is trade Morgan Rielly and Rasmus Sandin and get some bigger defensemen who can stop the forwards coming in their end. The Defense for toronto does not body check in their own zone any more, no defense no Stanley Cup.

  7. every 8 year old hockey fan knows the leafs are soft need defence and a goalie but some how the management thinks everythings fine. 1967 looks look like a thousand years from here.

  8. The Leaf's are the "most fascinating" ONLY in Toronto. You have NO cap space…unless you throw Matthews on LTIR (a la the Lightning). Keep wishing Leaf Fan! LMAO!

  9. Every year the leafs are the most “fascinating” team around the trade deadline….allegedly

  10. Mathews won't resign if they don't go deep into playoffs so trade him to his hometown for Chychrun as long as Chychrun resigns long term.

  11. Bottom six forward depth needed for the playoffs. Domi or Bertuzzi are my trade choices for a rental player. Leafs can't loose in the first round again to Tampa.

  12. While there is a team that is 2nd in league standings and also has over 10 million in cap space, Sportsnet still attempts to make the Leafs "most fascinating team ahead of trade deadline". What a bunch of clowns.

  13. Ariz looking to squeeze LA a little more and to see if anyone will top LA's offer.

  14. Leafs top heavy and need to fill in the bottom 6. Those are the guys who pop up in those tight checking games 7's. Nick Paul did them in last year and that is the type player they need to add.

  15. The Maple Leafs never had a Norris trophy winner…never. Close is only good in horseshoes. If you're being honest, none of our defenseman are good enough to be on the top 2 for most NHL teams, it's always been the issue, which will result in the early exit in April…never had a Norris. Look at all the cup winners, they all have a guy who can play unimaginable amounts of time where your team says: "no, not him, again!?!?". Do you think Morgan " my office is behind the opposition teams net" Reilly really scares other teams? We need a Hedman or a Makar, a star defenseman…

  16. Colorado the most fascinating. They are making the MacKinnon the leagues highest paid player. With the the U.S. RSNs in financial trouble next years CAP now expected to only go up $1 million. Aves are joining the Leafs, Oilers, TB in CAP hell., Aves they have a lot expiring contracts to deal with and will have to move someone they do not want to lose. Now is there best chance do they add to improve their odds.

  17. If Toronto Maple leafs go out and get patcher kane We all know the leaf's 1st 2 lines are going to be deadly because I could see the 1st line A Being Willie- Matthews- kane And then the 2nd line to be Michael bunton John Tavares And Mitchell Mariner On top of it I think we Need to get a goalie that can help us through the 1st round too

  18. Sportsnet…talking about the Leafs. Because Leafsnet. Because Leafs. And Sportsnet. And Leafs. But also Sportsnet. But also mainly Leafs. And Leafs, Sportsnet, Leafs, Leafs…Leafs and Leafsnet because Sportsnet and Leafs. But hey…"there's always nextLeaf".

Sportsnet markets itself as a "Canadian national sports broadcaster" but has utterly failed to spend any time talking about anything that happens outside of Toronto. What a spectacular joke of a network that continues doing a huge disservice to the entire country of Canada.

  19. Leafs are nowhere near the most fascinating team. They got no prospect pool, basic asset pool and no cap space. How is that exciting? The only exciting thing is that whatever they get will be filling one of the many holes on that team.

  20. If you had worked a month on a Chychrun deal a year ago and he just got injured, messing your whole work up, you'd probably do that too, this year.

  21. Maple leafs and Canadians always most fascinating teams lmfao don't worry about other 30 make it 29 should throw rangers in there. Vegas stays in mix
But fr Toronto doesn't have cap, always over rates prospects/some players, but they definitely could make a move for dman, top 6 forward but alot of money would need to be held unless want to get rid of Rielly or Willy.
Other sleeper teams Winnipeg jets are in all in mode target meier, chychrun, provorov, toews. Except have cap/future,and prospects/picks. Definitely going to make 2-3 trades.
LA Kings,Vegas with stone injured,Boston but aging team and not much prospects picks,Devils could use a meier or forward but can't pay a ton because Bratt and I think Holtz need contracts,Avs need Center.
    Flames,Minnesota,kraken,penguins,caps are middle teams.
,Edmonton is same situation as Toronto prospects aren't loaded, lack forward depth, and dman but need to shed cap if Karlsson, chychrun, maybe gavrikov or Edmundson makes sense.

  22. I think they will be "fascinating' if they get out of the first round of the playoffs. having watched them give the puck away in their own zone way to much i don't think they will get out of the first round.

  23. -"Why is there so much coverage on the Leafs"

-"because it gets the most viewers"

Does it maybe get the most viewers because it's the only thing on?

  24. first lesson in life, learn from your mistakes, yet pundits talk about taking on other team's mistakes, who signed older players to 8 x 8 contracts, add to that kane and karlson are small/ soft. also, leafs ditching P K & D P contracts got them back a bag of pucks, not the crown jewels. second lesson, there are cases of adding or losing one player tipping the scales of a team to a whole level better or worse; e.g., CO now losers, after losing 1st line fwds. vs. one addition of bottom-six F or depth D won't help T win more than one game in round 1. so, who's the big D who can clear the front of his net, blast the puck from the point, not old, good contract, supposed to go to a contender, OHL legend? fascinating!
