  1. Tough shootout loss but honestly a point is better than nothing, big loss with cozens being out but I’d rather him not play and be rested and make sure he’s back to 100%, team played great, 1 point out of a WC spot….when’s the last time the Sabres were in contention for a playoff spot in JANUARY going onto February, still got alot of games to get there, and this much needed all star break will give the boys the rest they need

  2. Yeah, agreed on the first point. 1PP for the Sabres, vs 4 against, was a joke.

  3. I have never understood the point for a tie after ‘regulation’ and ultimately losing!?!?(and never will). Why is a team able to advance in the standings when they lose?? If a baseball game goes beyond 9 innings due to a tie, the losers don’t ‘earn-a-point’. Overtime in football the losing team can’t advance in the standings because it was a tie at the end of regulation. What ever happened ‘winner takes all’? If they want to use a ‘point system’ as opposed to a won-loss system (like other sports do) they could award 1 point for a win and 0 for a loss. So much easier and avoids the ‘play-for-the-point’ mentality in the third period that so many teams have.
