Doubt it. Gibson was approached if he wanted to stay or be traded but I dont think John himself said he wanted out, otherwise Verbeek would have let him go asap.
That was a rumor last season but didn’t Gibson say over the summer or the beginning of this season sometime that it was false and he’s never requested a trade?

Gibson did not request a trade last season — it was a rumor that Gibby and his agent quickly rebuffed, with him saying pretty much that he’s here intentionally and he wants to play here. It was actually pretty surprisingly solid and definite given how often he’s hung out to dry by our defense.
It seems like he legitimately enjoys being an Anaheim Duck, as hard as that is to believe.
