Add Sanhiem to the list of “anyone with a brain knew this was the wrong move at the time”

The team needs to be sold.

On Comcast’s annual report, Spectacor and the Flyers are lumped into « other » with miscellaneous corporate expenses.

Yeah his new contact is too expensive and too long. But are any of the players’ underwhelming performances on Torts? We know Sanny can do better, so why isn’t he? Isn’t Torts supposed to be whipping these guys into shape, especially on defense? I know it’s ultimately on the player but Torts was supposed to come in and polish turds into diamonds, right?

Nothing wrong with the Sanhiem contract. We should absolutely hang onto either him or Provy to have that stable vet D on the left side for our rebuild. Sanhiem is just as much of a solid 2nd pair LHD as Provy and we got him cheaper. He probably gets 6.8-7 max term as a FA. He’s only 26 and a D man’s prime can last the length of that contract. Got Travis locked up now trade Provy for assets. Yorks better and making pennies. I’ve no qualms.

*Sean Couturier hasn’t played a game of his eight-year deal yet due to injury. Rasmus Ristolainen was a healthy scratch in the first season of a five-year deal. Monday in Calgary, Joel Farabee, in the first of a six-year pact, barely played and Travis Sanheim, who begins his eight-year extension next year, was a healthy scratch.*

It’s like Chuck Fletcher was tutored by Ruben Amaro in how to royally fuck up as a GM.
