   « The league and our team protocols do as much as they can,” Byram told The Denver Gazette. “At some point, it’s up to the player, yourself, to decide when you’re ready to go. Or not ready to go. »

   My problem with that is that it’s even left up to the player, if I’m understanding Bo correctly. I know it’s tough to assess severity of head injuries but maybe the protocol should be even stricter – I think the biggest issue is that a player is allowed to return to the same game just a few moments later. Also, the fact that Cale wasn’t pulled by concussion spotters due to the team diagnosing it as a nose injury instead of a head injury is worrisome. Any contact to the head like that should be treated more severely, especially for a player just returning from a concussion.
