Avec le mouvement papier de vrana, je crois que c’est l’objectif final. Atteignez la date limite avec ses renonciations, puis ayez une liste active illimitée.

But what good does it do to bring him up to the roster if there’s no place for him to play? It doesn’t make sense to just have a player sitting.

Granted, they might want to sit a different player that they have no interest in putting on waivers for the league to claim… But who is that?

Without this move Vrana’s waiver eligibility would end on March 4th, one day after the TDL (I’m assuming healthy scratches count towards the 10 game limit). Extending Vrana’s waiver eligibility allows Stevie to bring him up and send him down as needed for up to an additional two weeks (30 days from Feb 14), which means he has the flexibility to keep everyone playing somewhere without the risk of losing a player. You don’t want to be healthy scratching too many guys even with an unlimited roster.

Most likely. They only have to worry about it for another week or so.

This logic makes no sense. Vrana is waiver exempt past the trade deadline, at which point the roster expands and his waivers status becomes irrelevant.

The only reason that actually makes sense is that Yzerman has to open a roster spot up to activate Raymond, and the easiest way of doing so is to send Vrana back to GR. So this isn’t a paper move and Vrana may stay there until after the TDL.

  6. It sounds like they’re actually trying to trade Vrana, which is confusing.

All the speculation, rumors, assumptions – and y’all just now realize:

    You are playing checkers.

Stevie Y is playing 4-D chess.
