Rumor has it Dumba is going to Ottawa
Hmmmmm
Well, the Hawks just received a 2nd & 4th round picks just for taking a bad contract in Zaitsev.. Apparently the Sens want Chychrun but as a Hawks fan, I want the Hawks to take on as many bad contracts as they can for as many picks as they can… Now hopefully the Hawks can get a nice package for Kane – at least a couple of first round picks, a top prospect and a cap dump – if the Hawks can get that for Kane, I'll be stoked.. I also think Toews will get a better return than most think considering he'd be an ideal 3rd line shutdown center for a contender.. I hope the Hawks can get a first round pick for him, or at least a couple of 2nd's..
Interesting the East at the moment is already better than the West and as you highlighted Buffalo, Detroit also young teams on the verge of breaking through…I would add the Devil's also very young and already now firmly entrenched in a playoff spot…what team in the West is really building towards something or on the verge?
If they could just keep Norris & Sanderson healthy for a whole year, I think the rebuild would be over. Norris could be expected not only to match last year's scoring rate, but should have exceeded it, since he's young and should be getting better. Last year he was at a 40+ goal rate before he got hurt, so losing him is losing a 40 goal guy, and Sanderson teaming with Chabot gives them as good a 1-2 defensive punch as there is in the league. Add a 40 goal guy and a legit top pairing defenseman to any team in the league and see how much better they get.
Rebuilding is over, but building is still going on. You need good goalies, great D4 and 3-4 lines on forward. So time helps Sens to get better, but other moves is also needed.
The Sens are interesting and watching them is rewarding, even from Calgary.
I became a fan this year because of the Giroux trade. This team since their first game I watched to now has already vastly improved. Especially as a flyers fan, it’s cool to see a team who clearly is improving fast and could be a legitimate contender in the coming years. Hopefully the Sens can get G a cup win while he’s still elite.
I'm happy the team has improved, but I have to admit, even with our top 6 I'd really have loved a real shot at Bedard…
what has Pinto done to earn $2-3m?? its his 3rd season and hes barely played 70 NHL games. dont get me wrong, i love the kid and want him on the team but for his body of work thus far, $1.2m x 2yr tops.
I really hope this team makes the playoffs but regardless the future looks bright if they keep rolling.
Maybe a 4th line player or a 5/6 defenseman who has been there before. That's the only thing I would add. And this is just my opinion.
agree with everything you said
top 4 defensemen needed mostly.
I would let Talbot go as a UFA, trade Watson, putting Kastelic in his slot and look for who might be available at the deadline, but it has to fit with the group.
Uhoh i just got the skip ad on shannons video
Love 'em! Ottawa Senators Forever…..Go Sens Go!
In the interests of accurate History and Geography, we are actually talking about the Kanata Centurions.
it's over ish
You:
14:36 "I just don't know there's any top four defensemen available"
15:03 "But there are a lot of defensemen that could be available"
Me:
"I love watching your videos"
15:04 "I am confused. Which is it"
add Formenton, Norris to the lineup changes things. Still need another solid RH Defence. Now that Z is gone, they have space.
As a Sens fan nobody in management said playoffs this season. The quote "playing meaningful games in March" and that's exactly what we're getting. Next season is playoffs or bust
Seems like every other year the Sens claim their rebuild is done haha. Nothing resembling a team that can make a deep playoff run though.
Their roster is sweet.
Who’s on what line is for video games. It changes every game in real life, every period lol.
LEAFS SUCK
This Ottawa team reminds me of the Devils last year. You can see flashes of the young talent exploding randomly but the results just aren't there. I think next year they make the playoffs
Bring back Karlsson
Ottawa is better this year, but the Atlantic is stacked outside of Montreal. Florida has fallen but detroit and Buffalo are as far or farther than them I'm the rebuild.
Being Kent Hughes i would pull a Sam Pollock Trick by helping Ottawa(Or buffalo) to have Florida out of playoff.
If either of them want to overpay for Workhorse(Anderson) or even Giving away free Monahan(vs salary dump) i would seriously think about it.
This is how Sam Pollock got Flower in 1971 #GoldenSeals #Kings
Ottawa is eventually going to take a step forward. The draft and develop part of the rebuild is over. Now its the trial by fire growth period. NJ Detroit and Buffalo are good examples where you could see glimpses last season but nothing consistant. This year they still have breakdowns but damn are they fun to watch and playoffs are a lock in NJ, buffalo and/or detroit might sneak in yet.
Ottawa is a year behind those 3 so i expect them to be a bubble team next season.
Anaheim is still 3 or 4 years away.
Its always fun watching teams grow from a distance, so many armchair GMs and fans dont have the patience and want to fast forward the process with trades and rushing guys that are better off in the AHL for a season so its nice to see atleast a few teams doing it properly and not caving to market pressure
shannon knows how to break down every team as if he's been a fan of them for years. it's insane
The poor start is the reason, Ottawa won’t make the playoffs. Ottawa finally took step which I am happy about. I guess making the moves, having a great owner, will make the nesssery changes to make this a contending team.
If Formenton starts obeying the law better and respect others, maybe he will be lineup by now
