  1. I agree. Not a complete star player, but does have solid 2C potential still. Hoping he can realize it a bit more fully this next season.

  2. To me Veleno would be a Great 3C for the Wings I think if Yzerman grab Nazar in the upcoming draft that will show that Veleno is more seen as the 3C of the Organization

  3. Been on the Veleno train since training camp, I think he passes the eye test on offense and even defense and I think he's got a very high floor even if his ceiling isn't star level. He's one of my favorite wings prospects

  4. I’m a Hawks fan and I’d be willing to send Debrincat and Strome over for Veleno Edvinsson and a haul of high picks…as much as I would hate to help out Detroit in their rebuild, they’re almost done as it isHawks have to restock the pipeline so badly…Debrincat is a Detroit guy anyway 😛

  5. Thanks for doing a video about Joe Veleno. I definitely agree with your point about how he's looking like a different player in this current stint. If Grand Rapids make the playoffs then I think he'll be back there for the experience, otherwise it's NHL all the way for him. As for his ceiling, he's got potential but he's likely to have competition for a 2C slot, especially if we draft a Center with our first pick this year. TBH I don't see Suter or Rasmussen as part of the long term Yzerplan but Veleno is definitely moving in the right direction. Hopefully he'll continue this upward trend when he becomes a full time NHL player next season.

  6. I played peewee and bantam hockey with Joey. We also went to the same high school and were good buddies back in the day. Idk what his true ceiling is, but what i can tell you guys is that this guy is a work horse. Always grinding, especially in the off season. So whatever his true potential is (my guess is a good second line center, krejci-esque), im sure he'll reach it.

  7. He’s going to be a very solid 3C. The days of him being a 2C are gone in my eyes, but I think he’s going to be a really great player for us

  8. So happy to see this guy get his recognition! I dont know him personally but i do know his Dad! Great guy, so just happy that he’s getting up there in his career! Bring him home, we could use him in Montreal!

  9. Joe right now is third line centre material with possibility of being a 2c if he can get his play making and scoring up about 50 percent.

  10. He will develop until a solid middle 6 guy, potentially a 2C. I think he would look better under a different coach.

  11. Nothing veleno is garbage just Like whole chicken wings team and i enjoyed every Single second them getting destroyed last night😂😂😂

  12. Him and Rasmussen, DRW has to cut ties. It's not working out, they aren't doing it. Pulkinnen and so many others (and every team has them) just didn't work out. It happens. But, I trust 19. Some guys take time to come around, but there is not even flashes of it with these 2 players.

  13. To be honest as long as Blash is still here, it doesnt matter how good our prospects are. You can have all the best ingredients but if the cook doesnt know how to mix them correctly it doesnt matter.

  14. Sadly i dont live in Detroit so i cant go to games but until us fans do what we did with Matt Millen of the Lions, it appears Stevie is happy with Blash.

  15. you hit the nail on the head here. he's still developing and developing well. he's legit getting better and better, even if it's on the slower side. i'm fine with that given the timeline of the red wings rebuild. been happy to see him play with the winged wheel lately!

  16. Joey poison is really coming on. He’ll be a great player for us as he matures I can see him have star like season in his mid 20s

  17. Sounds like a solid 30-point guy. Not everyone turns into Marner.
    He'll be a solid NHLer.

  18. It’s time for Brasshield to move on. Eager to see how our young players like Veleno will respond to a new coach.

  19. Unfortunately we live in the world of "instant gratification" where people are already wanting to give up on Veleno and Zadina. People need to understand that most of these players need time and Yzerman isn't going to fix this team with one or two drafts. Everyone needs to remember that most of the Wings' players right now are just kids.

  20. I'm glad you reviewed Veleno. As a Blackhawk fan, I've always liked this kid. He's got the tangibles and intangibles that make him a player any team would love to have. Maybe Detroit will have a brain fart and trade him to the Blackhawks. Yeah. I'm just dreaming. He kind of reminds me of a Rod Brind'Amour type of guy. Definitely that kind of value. In my eyes.

  21. Veleno is still plenty young. I’ll be concerned if he’s not producing and improving next year….

  22. He needs a new change
I would if was jets or other teams in NHL with prospect who need change trade
    Like vesalainen for Veleno
