@Avalanche du Colorado

1. I really don't like the Englund trade. I get that there is something to be said for bringing back someone who understands the system and knows the other players, But Englund is a force out there. Far be from me to question Joe, but it is head scratching

  2. In regards to the Kinkaid trade. I think it is mostly organizational depth and with both the Eagles and Avs poised for possible long playoff runs it is insurance for the entire organization so that one injury doesn't hurt either team as much as it would have otherwise. There is also some rumbling that Jo Jo might go back to Sweden next year so this is maybe an audition to see if Kinkaid is a guy they want as that AHL tandem guy for the next couple of years.

    The trade for JJ to me makes a lot of sense to have him back as your 7th/8th D going into the playoffs. He's familiar with the group, and the staff obviously trust him. I was really starting to like Englund, but he was clearly having some trust issues from the coaches so who knows how he would have factored into post season plans if at all. I also expect them to try and get one other D here in the next couple of days.

    As for the 2C trade, I don't see a whole lot of centers left on the trade market at this time. I do think they go after a middle to top 6 player, but as far as centers go, it is kind of looking like they're gonna be going with a combination of Compher, Newhook, and E-Rod and I'm good with that honestly they way Compher has been playing this year.

  3. I liked what Englund was doing for us, and think that bringing JJ back is kind of a lateral move. But glad to see the Avs find some game momentum and playing 60min strong. #LetsGoAvs!

  4. These guys they traded may have requested a trade also got a little worried with the late hit on Nate but it looks ok I hope.

  5. McFarland is not inspiring confidence so far. Sign MacKinnon? Big deal. Let’s make some freaking moves to improve the team to make a deep run.

  6. I think Englund is a better player…but we got Banana Pancakes back baby!

  7. As the unofficial president of the Jack Johnson fan club, even I’m not happy that they gave up Englund. A very weird trade. I really thought that Sakic is still the guy with the final say, but now I wonder. Plus didn’t McFarland come from Columbus (where Jack played)?

  8. Cant believe it what a dumb trade Johnson 36 years old for Andreas Englund 27 years old didnt help the team at all

  9. I’d love to see either one of you two dorks tell Jack Johnson that acquiring him prior to the trade deadline made you scratch your heads..
    you’d both shit your pants, having to do so.

    that’s why the Av’s picked him back up, that dude will battle anybody.
    He’s won at every level coming up.
    Put some respect on him

    Englund hasn’t/won’t ever be a point producing d-man, nor a bonafide shut down type.
