  1. David lost his touch after the 2017 run. I like the move. Now Hynes needs to go.

  2. Posted in an earlier Locked on Preators broadcast. Fire Poile. A retirement will take too long.

  3. The thing is that with David Poile, he isn't getting any younger. He probably was going to retire at some point but who knows. I don't know if Nashville will win because of this, but I always thought they needed a system change as this system wasn't working. It will be interesting to find out what Barry Trotz thinks about the teams direction. I'm not gonna take anything away from David Poile. He was there since day 1 of this team. Of course, time waits for no man. The thing is, it feels weird. I hope Nashville recovers. Not just the team, but the fans as well. It really hasn't been a good season and maybe it will improve, but I'm not sure about that just yet. Being a Preds fan from Canada, it's not easy, but I don't regret it. We will see what happens, but hopefully, things work out for Nashville as time goes by.

  4. Surprised. Although, in retrospect it makes sense that Trotz would be coming back. However, I thought it would be as a coaching hire…they've obviously been collaborating for some time. BTW the Nino deal…a 2nd…for next year's draft?!! 🤬🤬 It's a deep year and sent to a division rival. I seem to recall coughing up 1sts for Gaustad and Hartman…wtf?!! Sad to see the era end as such, but Buh-Bye Poile!!!

  5. Excellent news! I only regret that David Poile is "stepping down" because he has botched this team so badly since the 2017 run that he really should just be fired! For my money we should have fired Poile instead of Trotz back in 2014.

As for getting Forsberg you've got to admit that Poile lucked out somewhat that the Caps were willing to let Filip go.

I know Poile helped build this team from the ground up and we owe him a bit for that, but his perpetual middle of the pack approach has really been killing us. I just hope he doesn't do much more damage before the trade deadline.

  6. I appreciate Poile a lot for everything he gave the franchise and I’m excited to see where Trotz will take the Preds. The NHL is notorious for recycling the same guys for the same positions so I’m interested to see what a coaches experience brings to the GM position.

I respect the hell out of GMDP and he’s done a lot and it sucks it ends with two of his worst mistakes in Hynes and Tolvy but I think he got a lot more right than wrong.

Thank you for your service Poile

  7. We are beyond excited about David stepping down. It’s 5 years late but we’ll take it. Now to get rid of the coaching staff and that will be a good start. I see a fire sale coming on and that’s ok too.

  8. I had wanted to be a fan since the first time I saw Nashville play a home game on TV Jan 1, 2001. This is my first season as a Predators fan for life. To hear the original coach of the Predators that night, back with the organization, is very very exciting. I now will listen to the podcast. I could never cheer for any other NHL team. Nashville has the best run organization in the NHL. They make things simple, less politics.

  9. I think it will work out with Barry Trotz. I also have an oddball pick for new head coach. Maybe one of the assistant coaches?
