So the Oilers didn't even wake up until over 6 minutes into the 2nd period. Columbus got 4 before that then the Oilers got 4.

Again, Oilers Flushed 2 points on this one that we should have gotten and needed against a weaker team in the standings.
Connor's heroics couldn't win it for them as they started over 25 minutes late to the game.

If the Oilers can play a more defensive game then it will take off the pressure on the goalie and stop forcing the cross-ice pass.
Oilers don't need a scoring forward, they need some PK specialists and defensive defensemen that can play in the top 4.

This year the league average save percentage is .905. In 21 of his 31 starts this year Jack is below average, he has a GAA of 3.48 and a save percentage of .884. Ken Holland could go get every top defence man available and with goaltending like Jack has been giving this year you will still lose. You want to improve this team it's not grabbing another d-man, grinder, sniper, or face-off guy…it's a goalie that can give you quality starts, not one who constantly deflates your club with soft goals!
Just trade McDavid to Boston, give him chance to win a cup, he aint going to win nothing here
So much negativity surrounding a team that is solidly in a playoff spot. Who cares, we missed two points. It's a long season. Skinner is the starter going into the playoffs and will steal us at least a game or two. Healthy lineup and this team looks solid. Holland will add a piece, have some patience and wait for the market to unfold, Oilers are up against the cap and have to get creative.
Get domi plays every game like it's a game 7, try and get mccabe to waive his no move, while your at it
Campbell is out of position a lot. Not square to the puck, plays small, too deep in his net. He' s never won a playoff series. He's clearly not a money Goaltender. On a side not, Campbell seems like a nice guy.
I think we're stuck as is. We have no money and who wants Cambell or JP ?
I think some moves HAVE to happen this summer. Right now ain't realistic on any "blockbuster" trade that'll magically fix our utter lack of defense, PK, or playoff grit.

Jack Campbell is a tremendous liability. At no point does he ever give his team a chance to win. He is the definition of a complete loser. Please make him go away somehow.

The Columbus effing Blue Jackets, the equivalent of the Washington Generals, the prop team that was there to lose every night to the Harlem Globetrotter club. The best thing on the Columbus roster is the goal cannon, and they used it FOUR times before Connor arrived from Starfleet to quell the rebellion on the planets’ surface.

Solid defense would help. Keep skinner in for now. I’ve suspected Swartz for years. Shenn+Domi is attainable if Kenny can’t make the big splash, otherwise we can always look forward to next season when they have some cap space. Can’t win them all

Your NOT STEALING REALLY GOOD PLAYERS FROM OTHER TEAMS & giving up struggling players to get them. Other teams also have savvy hockey people running those teams. They need 2 good stay at home defencmen that can move the puck well — & ship NURSE out of town…… They are much closer 2 winning than ever before……
Forget more scoring. We need D, and forwards that can check.
The thing is EDM has not shown skill at making trades. Sure exciting to give up picks etc, but look at what Holland has achieved in past – Athanasio, Green, Brassard, Turris, Foegele, Campbell, Pay Kassian $16m etc etc. On the other hand Kostin & Janmark have been positive. Be nice to get Bouchard out of the line-up – so a D would help.
But Goalie has to be good for team to Run in Playoffs. Agree w your points – but he has overpayed Pulju Yama Foegel Campbell so much – and Bouch-Kulak generate a lot of mistakes… so not easy to fix.
Loosing to Columbus is not that big of a deal. Boston has lost to the wild and Ottawa

If there’s one thing the oilers are good at it’s loosing day games and loosing to awful teams. To loose to a team that is absolutely tanking is disappointing.
Problem with the team is the D is brutal half the time. Also how Schwartz is still here is beyond me

So Oilers should go for Gavrikov and Korpisalo from CBJ. Or just Korpisalo and Karlsson from SJ with 75% retention. Karlsson could help both in denfence and offence and Korpisalo would be amazing in tandem with skinner.
