This trade is a win. It just doesn’t feel like it.
Bottom line is that this trade is absolutely necessary. Quickie was given many chances. I think blake send a message with this trade and a good one; if you want to stay a king, you cannot hold the team back. Personally, I love quickie but I think he has been a bit selfish lately. He is competitive, but sometimes you have to know when to throw your gloves in.

It's never the "right thing" to piss off your entire team! And make no mistake, that is EXACTLY what Rob Blake did! The Kings could lose star players over this fiasco.
Rob was between a rock and a hard place. It was never going to be easy emotionally. Jonathan will always have those TWO CUPS and that's more than probably 90% of the players who have ever played in the NHL. Rob improved the team, and I am glad he didn't give up much let alone take apart the future. The KINGS will continue to improve and get better, Rob is a very good GM.

Good for Kings management to trade Quick. You cannot take away what Quick earned. Maybe Quick can come back in a staff role after retirement? Quick was not that good while winning the Stanley Cups because he had a good defensive corps in front of him. Maybe Quick should just retire after the season and not play anymore. Keep your head up Quick and best wishes to you and your family. Let's be honest we would not make the playoffs if Quick stayed around and took over for Copley. Luc and Rob did a good thing for the team battling for a playoff position and actually HELPS the current team now with this trade. This was an addition by subtraction (exact definition) trade. Quick, you put yourself in this position.
These guys can walk at the end of the season, and the kings might have lost so.e loyalty points by doing this

It got to the point where if Quick started a game this year, I chalked it up as an automatic loss, and more often than not, that was a correct assumption.

Hysteria from both media and fans surrounding this trade has been unreal. Rob Blake made a right move addressing both issues that kings had with one trade without losing any big time prospects or any current players. Yes seeing Quick get traded to another team isn't a happy moment but it was done to better this team going frwd. Good luck to Quick and thanks for all the great years and memories. Kudos to Blake for making a great trade.
If Quick ends up in Vegas, and we meet them in the Playoffs, Vegas will start Quick 5 times. Watch out!

I think we could have let Quickie finish out his last 20 games here in LA and had a nice split at the end of the year but that isn't going to happen. Hope this doesn't mentally through off the players for the next few games. The bigger mistake Rob made was maybe giving up a 1st rounder for two guys that are UFA's in 20 games. I thought we would have learned our lesson after the Andrej Sekera crap when we gave up a first round draft pick for 16 games with Sekera. Also hearing Columbus is going to flip Quick back to Vegas. Eddie, we shall see if Blake taking the risk that they can extend Korpisalo in next 2 months or sign Korpisalo this Summer; if not then they gave up a 1st and 3rd for 2 month rentals, a bad deal. I like getting the rights to Portillo but once again that is a risk because him signing with the Kings is not guaranteed. At least Blake did do a major deal for Korp & Gav. instead of hust a minor one like last yr.
