NOOOO. This has been a really shitty day

What did we get? A 5th round draft pick in 2027 or some shit?

I was so excited for the trade deadline thinking the yotes were going to come out on the other side with some franchise redefining picks…now I just feel sad and want to unsubscribe from the r hockey place. The vitriol there is next fucking level and we’re just getting mid-round picks for everything while the goddamn Chicago hockey team has a bajillion first round picks and is likely only going to spend this year as being « bad » after they get Bedard. Fuck this shit man.

This means we don’t trade Schmaltz or Crouse probably so W in my eyes. We also got one player back

I mean it’s obvious the team doesn’t really care about being good until we get the stadium. Why try to win games when they won’t get revenue for playoff games and visiting fans will just sellout the stadium even if the yotes are bad

Everybody knew that year 2 & 3 would be the hardest years of rebuilding, but this week definitely hit like a fuckin truck.

The silver lining is that, for the first time in team history, we are trusting the process and not rushing it. The process, as Bill Armstrong believes, involves tearing it all down (with the exception of a few core pieces [Kells, Crouse, etc], and completely starting from the ground up.

We had a killer draft last year. Cooley has killed it in the NCAA, and was amazing at Worlds. Guenther is killing it. Geekie has looked decent.

We are going to have a killer draft this year.

It doesnt make it hurt less, but this is what it looks like when a team doesnt half-ass a rebuild like Chayka and Maloney tried to do. Next to everyone you support on the team will be gone when it is all said and done, we are going to get a lot of shit from outside fans, and there are going to be a lot more L’s before there are W’s.

I don’t mind this one. Expiring contract and kesselring is fine.

I would have felt bad if we hadn’t traded him. It feels like there was kind of an implied promise to find him a contender to go to. People are freaking out like it’s the Chychrun trade. Bjugstad and Ghost we’re going either way and a third rounder isn’t bad value for him.
