We need to assume we are chasing the Penguins. That means doing 6 points better than them over the last 19 games, while they have 21. Every game against teams on this list is a must win in regulation!

  2. Anyone that thinks we have a shot is delusional. Not sure what our front office is thinking not selling at the deadline

It is not happening. The two Wildcard spots are going to be Pens, Red Wings, Sabres, or Senators with the games they have in hand. How can we expect to land a spot when we can’t win more than one game in a row… At the end of the day the team doesn’t seem to want it, the other teams I’ve mentioned have shown that they want to make it.

Other teams just have too many games in hand over us and the team has been inconsistent on top of that which prevent us going on a big W streak. In order to get in we’d need like 3-4 teams to suddenly just drop off and suck for about a month and a half simultaneously.

It’s not happening folks. Need Zito to do some more work this summer.

Lets not pretend we are surprised, we were all saying during the offseason that this season will be a down year.

  7. sidsidness

The goal is now to not finish in the bottom 11 so we have no chance of giving Montreal the Bedard

I mean. To be frank, we do not deserve to be in the playoffs with the shockingly consistent level of inconsistency we’ve displayed throughout the season

This isn’t as upsetting as not doing anything to change this. Either fire Mo or get players who can play his system better.

The only thing consistent about Maurice’s coaching career has been inconsistency. Sad that it still rings true in his first season with the Cats. IMO there’s little chance he is fired in the offseason also, feel like he’ll (sadly) get one more shot next year with the freed up cap space.

So yeah not too much to get excited about.

  11. Playoffs are gone dude just forget it

  12. ExposedAardvark

After last night, the SLIM chance we had has all but evaporated. The only silver lining here is the lessons learned along the way

  13. ITeachAll

Season was over when they hired Fauxreece.

  14. Dull-Broccoli

Paul Maurice turned the the 2022 President’s Cup winners into this

I would say the game against the Penguins is the last straw. If they beat the Penguins, there is still a chance. If the Panthers lose, the season is officially over.
