I have defended Sutter all along, but I’m starting to sway towards thinking that he has actually lost the room. Not saying he’s a bad coach, his system works when players buy in, but I genuinely believe his shelf life has expired, some players look miserable playing for him. I think the Boston game was a little bit of a back breaker for them also.

If the reason for this piss poor performance is Sutter, I hope they completely tune him out (just like the Kings did) and just play for each other and the fans for the rest of the season

  2. I have to apologize guys.. I kept saying the flames will lock up 9th spot this season just to summarize what this season and franchise is all about

But at this rate the 10th spot seems like a bridge too far…..maybe this team can free fall and lose all remaining games and have a proper franchise player and rebuild

I FELL IN TO A DEEP AND DARK DEPRESSION

I want to go back to that pre-season feeling we had right after Huby signed his contract and bought that sick truck. We had so much hope for this team. And I think the potential is still there, but I’m definitely wondering if Sutter is the guy to lead them.

    Sutter has fucking lost it

    I’m done with him

I think Sutter is the biggest issue with the flames. You can just tell the players are not vibing with him & his boomer system is outdated for today’s game.
I still think Treliving is a good gm though.
Team needs a new coach then will probably be way better

Been watching the flames for 15 years now and I’d say this is potentially the most boring hockey I’ve ever seen.

  8. It is regrettable that today is the first day that, instead of checking what the Flames need to make the playoffs, I googled how the NHL draft lottery works to refresh my memory.

I have heard rumours that things have been off between the team and Sutter since the preseason, but those have only come up a few times and I don’t know if they are true or how bad things are.

If not that, then we seem to have a veteran team of incredibly talented players who have proven they know how to win who, for whatever reason, can’t figure out how to play together.

As I said before the trade deadline, I think we just have to ride out this season and take a hard look at things in the offseason. If it isn’t the coach, then it sounds like a complicated problem to figure out.

Next season will be the indicator if they need to blow it all up. I want to see this core with a new coach and am offseason of retooling.

Don’t let the hockey world get you down. Just cause things are shit now, doesn’t mean they’ll be shit next year. A top 10 pick this year would be unreal. There’s a ton of top flight talent.

OH BOY OH BOY I LOVE THE SMELL OF A 5 GAME LOSING STREAK IN THE MORNING.

Fire Sutter and go on to win cup. And Huberdeau states it was the system that held him back under Darryl. I don’t need no fu…..
    System

It was really nice to see us remembering our history last night, the players even decided to do an homage to our history as a mediocre franchise that can’t win

  13. lastlatvian

How many games do we got to lose to get into the lottery pool?

  14. Dr_Colossus

Peak flamesiness not to tank in the best draft in a long time.

  15. We really picked Darryl Sutter over Matthew Tkachuk I’m sick

Looking at the standings it’s very likely Detroit passes us putting us into 10th last. Beyond that though I don’t see much hope falling further. St. Louis is next up but unfortunately we’re 8 points ahead of them.

Sucks cuz if we’d just lost all those ot games in regulation we’d be right in between Vancouver and Arizona with a real shot in the lottery. Oh well if we finish 10th that’s still like a 3% chance at bedard and crazier shit has happened!
