Nah, just let him walk. Monahan was solid when he played, but the dude is injury riddled and will likely continue to be going forward. If we bring him back we’ll likely end up in the exact same position next year, with him injured and us unable to move him at the deadline.
He’s also not going to be part of this team’s long term future, so why have him take up a valuable roster spot? Assuming we want to continue to develop Dach as a centre, then between him, Suzuki, Dvorak and Evans we’re full down the middle.
I get he’s a good guy and all, but I’m kind of over this roster being clogged up by middle of the road veterans. If are going to be bad let’s at least be bad with players who might get better.

Fuck no, stop with the reclamation projects. We have enough chronically injured players

Enough of signing all these injured guys. The value of guys playing full seasons is arguably more even if they are less skilled.

I’d rather we look to sign a few players that’re known for staying healthy and playing a full season.

I have no problem re-signing him, but it’s gotta be for like $2M or less.

1 year/$2M max
He injures himself again, we let him go, not a big loss. If he stay healthy and play at great pace, we could probably turn him into a 2nd round/prospect to a contender team at TDL.

I’d sign him for 2X2 million tops. If he gets healthy it’s team friendly and he’ll be a UFA. Win win and little risk for us really.

I’m guessing Hughes will let him walk.

Nah man, we saw why Calgary gave up a 1st for him 20 games into he season. Great player when he plays but if he cant give you more than 25 games, theres no point in keeping him. Make rooms for prospects instead, Farell and Roy will be knocking at the door.
