  1. Leave it to the kings to be controversial. I mean, wtf guys. I know Quick has fallen off, but it really feels like you done him dirty.

  2. I get that Quick was an unreal goalie back and the day and was a big part of the kings cups, but this is becoming a way bigger deal than it needs to be. Quick has been terrible this season and has an expensive cap hit. The Kings players need to get over it and understand the fact that even though they lose a respected leader in their dressing room, this is a trade that makes them way better (even if it was maybe a bit of an overpay). This trade is a perfect example of the saying “hockey is a business”.

  3. You gotta imagine this will affect the team's morale negatively though. it might not, but we'll see in their upcoming games if this is the case

  4. What if Columbus trades Quick to Seattle and he stands on his head in the playoffs. That would be so SAVAGE! 😆

  5. It's Blake's job to make the team better, so trading Quick was the right thing to do, even if it hurts a lot. He's been absolutely crap this year, easily the worst season of his entire career.

But at the same time, sending away the franchise goalie that carried you to 2 Lord Stanleys in 3 years to the worst team in the NHL is really cruel and quite sad, especially when the dude only has 3 months left until he walks away from the sport altogether.

Korpi should be a good upgrade in case Copley begins caving back into his journeyman form, and I guess Gavrikov could be useful. I heard from Jackets fans that he can be useful as a D-man if the Kings don't ask him to do more than that.

  6. Im a kings fan and I’m depressed. Yes we get better but still hurts seeing our franchise #1 for the past decade+ leave especially to Columbus

  7. As a Rangers fan that hates the Kings, even I'm shocked by this trade

  8. they did my boy DIIIIIRRTYYY 😂

can you guys imagine having to go from living in LA to COLUMBUS?!?! 😂😂💀💀 from the best city, to the worst…

  9. As much as I love Quick, the Kings absolutely needed an upgrade at goalie to go deep in the playoffs. The fact that they got anything for him shows how great Blake is as a GM. The Kings are a top 5 team in Fenwick For Percentage and Shots For Percentage. They are top 10 in Corsi For Percentage. They are top 3 on the power play. This is a good puck-protection team that defends well and can score. We will miss Quickie, but he's been painful to watch this season. Quick was ranked 89th out of 93 goalies in save percentage and bottom 20 in GAA. He is out of position often and has been allowing in bad goals almost every game. The fact that he's been backing up Phoenix Copley should tell you all you need to know about his performance this season. He's an all-time Kings great and will have his jersey hanging in the rafters at Crypto someday, but the Kings have a legit chance to challenge for the Cup if Korpisalo can repeat his 2020 performance against the Leafs.

  10. As a kings fan I’m devastated that one we had to trade but trade him the way we did and completely disrespect him I’m glad we got our ld men and korpi but I wish we handled that whole situation better

  11. Quick is well into the twilight of his career. The league knows he can't stop high, hard shots. Blake made a good move. The team is improved and once emotions settle down in the locker room, the team will focus on winning. They are professional athletes.

  12. this hurts to see, but sadly it needed to happen. quick was never as good after he came back from missing almost an entire season due to a groin strain injury. and with peterson's contract, the kings were forced to move him instead. i just hope that Copley can do quick's legacy justice since he's basically the guy now.

  13. Nobody is interested in Quick. His numbers are terrible. Columbus took Quick as a charity. They wanted the draft picks. If Korpisalo becomes a wall in the playoffs and gets the Kings deep or even the Cup, everyone will be singing the praises of this trade.

  14. sorry but when ur old and costing alot and playing like shit u gonna be traded. maybe ur agent should have gotten no trade clause

  15. If the kings had any honor at all they would have accepted the possibility of a first-round exit simply to honor the man who did what Gretzky never could: Bring a Stanley cup to LA. This will hurt their reputation for years to come the same way Vancouver's coaching moves have for their organization. I can see LA showing up on a lot of no-trade lists after this.

  16. Oh nooo a millionaire who made millions playing a game he loves is unhappy.. I feel so bad for him after my 12 hour shift at a job I lothe..

  17. It's just business, nothing to get worked up. Even Gretzky was traded multiple times.

  18. Imagine thinking that trading your back-up goaltender who couldnt out perform a player that started in the AHL is controversial.

Way too many people tied to his performance from 10 years ago. Trades happen. Its what can happen to anyone, especially those without NMCs or NTCs. Perhaps he could have secured one himself if he took a lower caphit. This was always a possibility for him.

  19. Even as a Columbus fan how the kings did quick was wrong and I feel bad for him, but I think his experience will help Elvis

  20. Quick might have retired after this season and it’s pretty sad. He did get traded to Vegas so that’s good for him. I would be interested to see if they retire his number when he does retire.
