It’s a combo of not understanding but also not caring for some people.
Unfortunately, some people think because these guys are millionaires, they’re robots that think they can just plug and play like it’s a video game.
Most of us have gone through major life changes. Pretty sure we all understand. If I could move to a new city, so can you.
Well if we’re going to generalize our entire fanbase based on the worst takes some people have had, then newsflash- every fanbase is dumb as hell. Some of us have patience here lol

Biz and Whit have actually been bullish on the Rangers lately and have said they’d take us over the Devils in round 1.
This has actually had the opposite effect, however, as now I am terrified of the mush.
And yea it’s annoying when they let a few Ranger bandwagon losers on twitter represent the entire fan base. But I still enjoy the pod for the most part.
Wait, so like having to move? Or changing jobs? I think while we may not understand exactly, we get the general sense of what it entails.

He’s right about everything here. And yes, we do have some pretty dumb fans. However that’s also because we have probably a top 3 largest fanbase in the league, def a top 3 market.. so you’re more likely to see a lot of dumb people making noise.
That also doesn’t mean other fanbases aren’t dumb. Islanders prob take the cake for biggest dummies/fan count ratio
Hopefully this at least serves as a topic for discussion or entertainment to tide us over for a relatively slow news day and while we wait for tomorrow’s game.
I mean I read a whole bunch of the trade proposals that got posted in the sub. He might not be wrong. Add that with the ranger/ Yankee fan overlap (Yankee fans are second only to Dallas cowboy fans as the dumbest imo) and he’s got a lot of point. Seriously, the trade proposals in the sub were just absolute dogshit for weeks. And most fans know getting traded is a whirlwind
Most New Yorkers are go-getters, transplants and immigrants. I’ve lived/worked/studied in 5 different countries. Some of which I didn’t even speak the language. What is this guy even talking about?? 😂 sounds like moving isn’t common whereever he’s from.

I think the bigger point that’s included in this episode is trades like Quick. Rob Blake totally sandbagged a Kings legend. Kane wanted a trade and although those little details do matter–getting to know the dynamics of the room and their playing system etc–I’d argue it’s not as jarring as being completely fucking blindsided and being shipped off right after a game to god knows where. Davidson did right by Kane and the fan base is bummed but they understand. Rob Blake on the other hand….that fan base is going to hate him for a very long time.
As for us being dumb: every fan base in every sport ever has a bunch of fuckin plugs for fans that are loud and annoying. Whit and Biz can go get bent with their mediocre careers and stupid fuckin takes.

I’ve always thought being a NY team is a double edge sword for a fan base. We probably have one of the best CORE groups of fans because there’s so much else to focus on in NYC, that you only really care about the rangers if you’re a diehard. On the other hand, there are so many more people in the market, that we have a larger group of bandwagon fans that latch on when the team is doing well in the playoffs
I cant believe people tune into players like Ryan Whitney and traffic cone Bizwhatever the fuck for hockey insight. They literally just need hot takes to stay relevant

Would never take anything these guys say seriously. One is a career minor leaguer, one had a few good seasons on the back of a legend, and the other is just a full on clown.
I don’t know what it means to “get on” a player tbh. Commiserating with other fans can be part of a fun bonding experience—I don’t think that will stop. Also I think most ranger fans when they’re at msg give the players a lot of support, but maybe I’m overlooking some time (lately) when they were shitty to someone they shouldn’t have been. So Kane will get a lot of support at msg, but maybe Whitney is suggesting reddit or twitter or traditional media are gonna “get on” Kane, and that could be tough to deal with.
Rangers fans are dumb…he’s right. Not the majority of fans. Def not most of the Rangers fans in here. But we have A LOT of bandwagon/casual/ fans that don’t follow the NHL. Just the Rangers. It’s not that surprising because we have a huge fan base. Those fans unfortunately get generalized as all Rangers fans by media outlets. I’m not bothered by it anymore, because that’s the price of rooting for a popular team.
But OF the dumbest fans in all of sports we are the best dumbest fans.
Ryan Whitney is a clown. He started all the bullshit last spring in trashing Rangers fans while the team played his precious Penguins in the playoffs.
I do think people are dumb for expecting Kane to not have an adjustment period but the « He needs to get used to having a different masseuse and sit in a different seat in a different chartered jet. » argument that Whitney gives here is probably as, or more silly. Kind of reminds you that these guys are just a bunch of priveleged jagoffs divorced from reality. But I digress.
