  1. Life long oilers fan here. I’ve been saying he could have 100 for years now. He’s always had shortened seasons or he’s played on dogshit teams. He’s been the quietest star in the league forever but when u watch every game u realize how much he does out there. I’m glad it’s finally going in for him

  2. A lot of good players are now looking really good thanks to goalies being on their knees 90% of the time, to stop shots.

  3. He just needed complimentary teammates. He got off to a bad start with bad teammates and that crap takes a while to get through and into a modern day weapon

  4. Yes i watched him in red deer he was a freak against other junior players still wicked in the nhl also beast name

  5. When Nugent-Hopkins was in junior he was a point getter, hence the ranking of the best available player at the draft.
Then he came into the NHL, he was playing and/or thinking that was going to happen still. Over a few years he slowly started to realize that he was not necessarily going to that still.
So he trained or practiced more as he realized that his game and himself would be different and have to adapt.
And now he has become of the better 2-way forwards, and he could possibly (granted will take more time) be as good as the best in Patrice Bergeron.

  6. He has one good season this year and he is this magic man? He had underperformed greatly overall until this season, never was a number one pick. He is a minus 38 player for his career. Succeeds mainly like many would on the powerplay with mcd and drai…50 pts average a season over 12 years, which isn't to bad with some of the teams he has been on I guess….but he is not that special.

  7. Finally nuge gets some love.. I totally agree he looks absolutely stellar this season.. he’s fire

  8. Splooge 4 Nuge… drafted him early in fantasy this year, had a feeling bout him ( and Nylander) and I’m 2nd in my league 😎

  9. RNH has always been a utility player. He has a mountain of intangibles that aren't shown on the stat sheet.

Easily the most over-shadowed and under rated player on the team.

  10. As I was watching this video, in my mind I was comparing him more to a David Krecji for the B's as a second line center……was surprised to hear you compare him to Patrice Bergeron? Stats may be similar but is he going up agains the best line every night…..taking almost every Ozone and Ozone key face-off, all the Selke stuff.

  11. A buddy of mine played in the WHL at the same time as RNH and asked RNH to sign his own broken stick after they played against each other. He is also a massive Oilers fan so it was pretty cool to see RNH get drafted by the Oilers later on. That same buddy also played against Eberle and the Pats the year after Eberle was drafted by the Oilers and he waited in the autograph line in his (Lethbridge) Hurricanes gear after their game to get him to sign his Oilers hat. I had the opportunity to meet RNH in the offseason and he's awesome.
    #KeepNugeForever
Edit: RNH was routinely dragged down by garbage teammates for most of his career and sacrificed offense for defense to make up for his bad linemates. People forget that once Eberle and Hall were traded RNH became the babysitter of every line he played on until this year
