  1. Raleigh is a great city. Small (less than 500K), lots of countryside within driving distance. The 'Canes also fly under the radar because they are smack-dab in the middle of ACC country. (Duke, NC State and unc within 30 miles each). College sports rule the south.

  2. Problem for the Canes this year is goaltending. Just like it was last year. Andersen has never won a playoff series. He was medically cleared last year to play then he said he wasn't ready. He pulled the same garbage in Toronto. They have their hopes pinned on a quitter. Raanta played well in the playoffs last year. However the canes will be gone after the second round.

  3. It wasn't that long ago when they were getting less fans in the arena than they get now. It's so good to see they're packing the place out. They're an awesome team. When I get the time to watch them, they're a joy to watch. Respect to you guys in Carolina. 👌🏻👍🏻

  4. Why is no one saying the Canes are peaking right now? I agree they look like a force right now. They have also had issues scoring goals this season. That could bite them in the playoffs. I’ve seen it before with my Bruins in the past. 2014 comes to mind.

  5. Crazy to me how this Puljujarvi trade has flown under the radar of almost everyone. You'd have to have been willingly blind in 2016 not to see how Laine, Puljujarvi and Aho obliterated everyone at the World Junior Championships, the pool of talent that year was absolutely bonkers, we're talking Tkachuk, Marner, Nylander, Auston Matthews, Braydon Point, Hischier, De Brincat, Meier, Malgin, Dvorak, Samsonov, MacAvoy, Kaprisov, Kuzmenko, Hronek, Pastrnak etc)… And yet, these 3 young guns from Finland dominated everyone and the championship and no one even came close.
If not for his own performance, Jesse Puljujarvi will boost up the morale of his very best mate from Karpat Oulun Sebastian Aho. Saying they're ecstatic to be reunited so soon in their career is the hockey understatement of the year. On top of that, the Canes & Brin D'amour now have the possibility to have a full Finnish line of Puljujärvi, Aho and Teravainen OR switch Aho to the left wing for an association of Puljujarvi and him with Kotkaniemi at the center and either way they'll have a line of guys who know eachother extremely well, have played together at the highest level of the sport outside the NHL and already have an established long matured chemistry.
And where is this happening ? Within the one organisation where finnish players THRIVE (Jarmo Kakelainen over in Colombus must haved died of jealousy when he heard they got that for just a freakin prospect that will most likely never make it to the NHL).
The Canes only have a few games to bring Puljujärvi to the level he should've always been at, and that's a whole challenge in itself but if they manage to pull this off I do not see Boston winning the cup at all.
