This is just a small balancing of the scales for all we’ve gotten from St Louis in the past few years. I’m cool with it working out for Vrana and the Blues.
At least he did it in one of the best jerseys in league history

The fact that he is such a good goal scorer and no one would even do a deal better than what he got has to tell you something. It is not just he did not fit the culture they want. Some GM would have offered more or even picked him up off waivers if there was not more to it than we know.
That being said not sure why it could not have waited until summer and maybe worked out as less of a hit to them. Again we likely never know the true objective reasoning. Hope he does well and figures out whatever he needs to.
Of course he does. Getting rid of him was an idiotic move, I don’t care what the last name of our GM is. He’s going to have a very successful career and he’s a pile of pure skill when our team has very little of that.
Watch him score 30 next season

One of the very few moves Yzerman has made that I did not agree with.
Whatever happened with him personally, I feel it was worth at the very least seeing it out to end of the year. You moved Bertuzzi fine, plug V in his spot and let it ride, ton of potential and just worth seeing what the kid has got while healthy and regular is worth a lotttt more than a 7th.
This I feel will be a lost player that will bite the wings in the long run. Vrana is a consistent 20+ scorer that would be of a lot of value long term
