I can’t even comprehend how dumb it would be for them to do this. They have to add someone aside from Levi.

This would be such a massive mistake. Levi is no doubt the goalie of the future but expecting a 21 year old goalie to immediately solve your problems would be a terrible move.

Levi’s stats in college are on par with guys like Ryan Miller and Connor Hellebucyk and both guys played a majority of their time in the AHL for at least 2 years. Please do not turn Levi into an immediate savior

  3. Feels like this is two different situations. Pre Levi signed and post Levi signed.

No matter what happens I think you must get Levi signed first. Then Adams is in control. He could in theory make a move to upgrade UPL with shipping him out in that deal. Hart from Philly is a name out there today. Philly needs forward prospect talent and Buffalo has that in spades. In this timeline Adams wouldn’t have any pressure to make a move which would likely mean not giving up too much.

On the other hand, if the Levi situation drags out Adams would be in a different position to try and upgrade. He could still make that Philly deal but he would be in the weaker position and would have to give up more.

Anyone who wants to help the Sabres or not make it harder than it needs to be needs to shut the fuck up with sources saying things that make it harder to sign Levi.

Yes but, Carter Hart is available. Him and UPL both had about the same xGA/60 (2.81 vs 2.84) with an actual GA/60 of 2.38 for Hart vs 3.15 for UPL)

Based on Levi’s own words/gestures in the past, he’d likely want at least a year in the AHL before any regular duty with the team. He’s all about baby steps to another level and dominating there

that is a *terrible* idea if they’re actually planning to start him in the NHL next season

young goalies can take years to develop. the last thing you’d want is to throw this college kid straight to the wolves, wreck his confidence and start the « bust? » conversation before he’s even had a chance to adjust.

levi should start in rochester for at least a half a season, probably a full season. if he thrives, give him a few call-ups for a taste of the real thing. then, incrementally move him into a backup role so he starts getting more NHL action. *then*, hopefully, he can take on the starting role

Don’t rush his development and ruin what could be a potentially generational talent.

Pay a real goaltender, real money, and let UPL bust his ass to try and unseat him.

TIL, UPL just doesn’t exist… guy is legit and could very well take another step…

  9. AdMaleficent9374

Why is UPL even on the market? I don’t get it.

I think we should wait until he actually signs here before we jump to any conclusions about where he will play

I mean everyone is also assuming he is going to be playing next year. He could easily just be hopping back for one more year
