This is a huge win for Ottawa.And to tell you the truth Ottawa could actually move Norris.What about another right shot and the d core should be solid for 3 to 5 years or more?

Now to be able to fit debrincat and pinto in next year with all the supporting cast. No room then for a new goalie if they want one. Unless they trade joseph out for a cheaper winger or just trade him and bring up sokolov. They most likely won't bring back watson so they will need another 4th liner as well. They don't have alot of right shot right wingers in their organization right now.

Ottawa trade for Chychrun for 1st rd pick this yr top 5 protected, 2nd rd pick in 2024 and 2 nd rd in 2026. I can't believe the leafs couldn't get him. Look what they gave up to get Gustafsson and Chychrun way better and under contract one more yr.

Only picks?! This team has added Giroux chychrun and debrincat without giving up any prospects or roster players. Now I'm praying for the health of this guy… I hope the issues are behind him and he's isn't just fragile.

Great move by Ottawa but as a Habs fan I think they may have the same problem we do… 3-4 really good left shot guys. I think both teams will end up locking down a stud right hand shot either in trade or FA.

That's a great left side but who they have for the right side, Sanderson for one of the Kings right handed guys or maybe two depending on who the Sen's want would finish their blueline needs for the next 5 years at least.

Massive W for Ottawa. Arizona tried holding the Sens feet to fire on tbis deal but Dorion didnt bite and patiently waited for a reasonable price drop…and got it! Sens looking dangerous and a possible dark horse if they can make the show. That D looks really good now.
Great pickup by the Senators IMHO–I believe the Senators will be much improved next season–THe Senators got a good deal with this trade.
NHL managers should be disgusted in themselves that is not very much for a VERY good defenseman.
Second round picks mean nothing so it is one first round pick and a conditional one.I cannot believe other managers could not top that.Chykryn is a cornerstone young D that you can build around for years to come.
Ottawa scored big here but Ottawa is an odd team not at the top not at the bottom sort of in no mans land .Ottawa is close and i feel they are too close to sit idle they have 4 games on hand over the Islanders and Pittsburgh not exactly a corner of consistency but that is going to be a real tough go for Ottawa.
The acquisition of Chykrun is a big win in many ways (aside from the win of not giving up any current prospects).
1. You can pair Zub with Chabot consistently and pair Chykrun with Sanderson (both can offer solid defence and offence) and even interchange those pairs as needed.
2. Allows people like Holden/Hamonic to slot further down the depth chart (possibly even trade one of them or not resign either of them in the off season).
3. Gives them a little bit more flexibility of timing in terms of bringing up Lassi Thomson, JBD, Klevin, etc
4. Most importantly, this may allow the Sens to keep Chabot under 25 mins/game. Chabot is most efficient&productive when he plays 25 mins or less. Once he starts pushing over that, he tends to have mental lapses and loses speed.

Overpaid for damaged goods. Unable to play full season except for pandemic season. Too many draft picks given for questionable player who doesn't play full seasons.
problem is that they haven't got Debrincat signed (Chicago picked up Korchinski for that one) and he's got arbitration this year, 9 mil presumably next year. RFA with Arbs: besides Debrincat, Gambrell, Gauthier, Brannstrom, Larson. Pinto's going to need money (they've got about 6.15 mil to 82.5 after Debrincat's). everybody wants money.. Stutzle, Giroux, Chabot, Tkachuk, Debrincat, Norris, Zub, Batherson, Chychrun's, etc.etc etc. LOL! Which player(s) are taking turns on LTIR? I haven't even mentioned minor league prospects.
